It was also only the second gold medal for his country, which hadn't seen a gold since 1976 when Hasely Crawford won the 100m dash.

Yes it was, although Trinidad in 2017 was retrospectively awarded the gold medal for 2008 4x100 m relay after Jamaica was stripped off their gold medal due one of their athletes positive on doping

Keshorn Walcott turns 30, gold medalist at the 2012 Olympics in the javelin throw, being the youngest champion

    220px-Keshorn_Walcott_-_2012_Olympics-2.jpg

That was quite a performance. He was only the second non European Olympic champion in Javelin (after American Cy Young in 1952) on 24 editions, and only the fifth non European on 72 medalists !

At the throwing events (Hammer, Discus, Shot Put and Javelin) he was only the second Olympic champion not coming from Europe and USA !

Plus he learn and practice javelin by watching videos on YouTube !

Not for several European, American and Japanese supercentenarian for which we have proofs of their age

  7. I blame him and the Athletics authorities. They let him compete though there was a huge doubt on his age ! For example in M90 category, he has the marathon record with an hour better than the second !

Likewise, Zlatkovic, although I've found something in Serbian which suggests he might be gone as it's in past tense... but that could just be translation.

It is confirmed, Sinisa Zlatkovic, player for Yugoslavia at the 1950 World Cup,  has died on 05/04/1996 at 72. His wiki has been edited a few days back with a precise death date, but without a link.

  12. On this day 73 years ago, 30/03/1950, French Prime Minister Léon Blum died aged 77. He was three times head of government.

In his first term in 1936-1937, he led the « Front Populaire » , a left-wing coalition that initiated important social reforms.

He has a second term in 1938. With the outbreak of WWII and France’s defeat, he was accused of treason by Pétain and Vichy’s regime, as he was believed to have weaken France and to have not do anything to prevent Germany’s rise.

After the war, from December 1946 to January 1947, he became head of the (provisional) government and de facto head of state.

This year Premier League relegation battle is the  tightest it has ever been with 4 points separating the bottom nine clubs

The tightest of the history of the Premier League, or of the history of English highest division ? Cause it’s not the same 30 or 134 years !

The push for Scottish independence would’ve been completely and utterly dead and buried had Forbes or the other one won, but now thanks to Humza Yousaf it’s just dead.

Chris Grayling is Conservative right ? So you think that Scottish independantists won’t carry on the « push » because of his conservatism ? Or « because » he is a Muslim ?

Sorry for my ignorance, I don’t quite follow Scottish politics

If Biden and former presidents want to break Carter’s longest post presidency record, it will take much time :

Clinton would have to live until at least 28 march 2043, he would be 96 years old

Bush to live 28 march 2051, 104 years

    Obama to 28 march 2059, 97 years

Trump to 28 march 2063, 116 years (breaking Jiroemon Kimura’s record of longest lived male !)

    Biden to 28 march 2067, 124 years (breaking Jeanne Calment’s record !)
