I feel like 2023 will surpassed 2020. Plenty of celebrities out there slowly dying from terminal illness. Committee must pick right people for next year. 2023 had a potential to surpassed 2020! Benedict and Pele must be in Top 5 next year if both of them still alive by the end of this year.

Mrs. Matsu Gaja, the oldest person in Okinawa Prefecture, passed away on December 25 2022 at the age of 114. She was born in February 1908 and lived in Nakagusuku Village.
RIP. She is not validated that's why she's not in Top 10.
