Bush has a history of smoking and drinking, unlike Trump though - which could be the curve-ball in this scenario. I think they'll both outlive their predecessors (and Biden), but I'm not 100% sure Bush would outlive Trump. Obama should outlive them all, unless he gets some kind of terribly hard to treat cancer or something.

He's got folks raising money in an attempt to fund therapy to walk again (far more than he ever made in Congress), for that to even be an option implies that there may be some hope for him.

There are opportunities to pull her out if necessary. At least in theory anyway. It would effectively require an emergency separation of one of the capsules on board because there's very little chance NASA would send up a capsule just for her... And that would have ripple effects for everyone else. My bet is that they just keep forcing her to eat as much as possible in an attempt to stop any further deterioration or any necessary rescue. They could always move up the launch from February if necessary as well if they don't want to do an emergency measure.
