Do you have all your grandparents or parents alive or you've already lost some ones ? Personaly, I have both my parents alive, but I lost 2 out of my 4 grandparents (my paternal grandmother in October 2019, caused by an hospital operation on her back which bad resulted, we don't know if it was a medical error by the doctors but the last ones said that the operation was risky as it could have impacted the head and the nervous system into the skull, and that's what happened. One the day after the operation, my grandma was found brain dead by the doctors. She couldn't support the operation and that was the end for her, she was 79 years old. In January 2021, I lost my maternal grandfather aged 83, but he died of old age, his health deteriorated quickly between 2019 until his death and it was painful to see him in 2020). Both my paternal grandfather and my maternal grandmother were 80 years old when they became widowed.

And it’s not finished…I have to notice you that today, the journalist Gérard Leclerc (half-brother of the popular singer Julien Clerc) has died in a plane crash in the west of France. He was 71. This journalist worked for France television channel, then was president of the channel LCP of the National Assembly, then was a figure of the far-right channel Cnews. (Shocking, he was converting from a left journalist of France Television to a far-right journalist of Cnews). Anyways, he died in tragic circumtances, in the plane which he piloted. A this side in this crash, there were two others people whose one of both was the daughter of former president of the French Senate (Michèle Monory, daughter of René Monory).

Just a death to report but far late, it was from june : the death of former french journalist : Claude Sarraute at 95. Journaliste very famous in France, she worked for Le Monde, then participated in the radio show : Les Grosses Têtes (RTL Radio) anchored by the famous journalist Philippe Bouvard who is 93 years by the way.

Dans le mini avion de tourisme qu’il pilotait, Il était accompagné de deux autres passagers dont Michèle Monory, la fille de l’ex-président du Sénat René Monory…mort tragique !

The director of the french popular children’s serie : « Bonne nuit les petits » (Good night kids), Michel Manini has died at 86. Sad, because these serie was very popular for children but doesn’t exist anymore.

After the passing of Federico Bahamontes, the oldest living winner of the Tour de France is the Dutchman Jan Janssen who is 83 years old, and the living winner who won the oldest edition of is the Frenchman Lucien Aimar who is 82 years old.

Il y a beaucoup de décès célèbres cet été. D'habitude, c'est quand même une période plus calme par rapport à l'automne ou l'hiver. Mais là en l'espace de un peu plus d'un mois, on perd Léon Gautier, Alain Besançon, Milan Kundera, Jane Birkin, Geneviève de Fontenay, Gilles Perrault et Hélène Carrère d'Encausse...ça fait beaucoup. Il n'y a pas eu de personnalité politique de première plan encore cette année : Quid de Jacques Delors, Jean-Marie Le Pen, Edouard Balladur, Robert Badinter ou Bernadette Chirac ?

Hélène Carrère d’Encausse has died at 94 ! A terrible loss for the French National Academy which she was the president. A terrible loss for the French Language and a terrible loss for France.

So shocked by her passing. She appeared on French TV regularly, and was in good health, i believed that she would live few years more.

Je suis absolument choqué de son décès. Elle a dû mourir d’un arrêt cardiaque soudain, je la voyais vivre encore quelques années, même peut-être centenaire.
