    Sinéad O'Connor aka Shuhada' Davitt

    So does Slade, probably.

    Michael Schumacher

I'm still not convinced they don't just prop him up in bed with a tray on his lap and feed him through a spoon.

That's what I'd go with as the most likely cause. A Shane-style situation (although probably not quite as extreme as in his case) in which her abused body simply couldn't go on any longer.

All that means is that they can't prove it was drugs or suicide. All the same... who drops dead for no apparent reason at the age of 56 unless they already had some serious preexisting conditions? The trouble with 'natural causes' is that it's so vague.

So .. What Do You Watch On TV?

I saw an interview recently where he admitted he was in a tough financial spot due to the complete drying-up of his TV work. Mind you, I wasn't expecting this as his comeback.

It's literally all on his Wikipedia page...

Depends which generation is buying those papers. Lobbygate will mean nothing to most people under 40 but I understand made him quite infamous with people who remember it at the time.

I know he had a long career as a political strategist before meeting Kate, but it's a bit strange that all the headlines I've seen about him so far have called him 'Kate Garraway's husband Derek Draper' and not 'New Labour lobbyist Derek Draper'. Kind of insulting, when you think about it.

    Donald J Trump

I think he will get onto the ballot (the current makeup of the Supreme Court virtually guarantees it) and will lose the election, but by a smaller margin than in 2020, and the voter turnout will also be lower. Neither Biden nor Trump exactly inspires confidence and hope for the future as things stand. Biden's second term will just be him keeping the Oval Office warm while the Democrats pour through their next generation of potential candidates for 2028.

    She's not Linda Nolan's alter-ego, is she?

    The 3rd Death of 2024

Third time unlucky for Le Pen? Otherwise he's gonna end up with more votes from me here than he ever did in any of his presidential candidacies.
  12. You have to wonder why he's doing it now when all he had to do was wait a few more bloody months and he'd be out of a job anyway. A case of jump before you're pushed?

    The 2nd Death of 2024

Still sticking it out with Le Pen.

So .. What Do You Watch On TV?

Series 1 was better, yep, and could have worked very well as a standalone series. The scenery stood out and the characters felt less like cartoons in that one.

So .. What Do You Watch On TV?

The Tourist series 2. Tbh I don't think the Irish tourist industry will be especially thankful for this series. I'm sure there are normal people somewhere in Ireland but they're nowhere to be seen on this.
  16. It's like he's hoping for another 'Falklands moment' to breeze in and save his premiership at the last second. Maybe directing one of his diplomats to start a slapping contest with the ambassador of a poorer weaker country?
  17. B-but... trickle-down economics or something...?

    Donald J Trump

A familiar name from this very site, I'm guessing?

So .. What Do You Watch On TV?

Wasn't it also hosted by the lady who played Amy in the Big Bang Theory for a while? And she's a qualified neurobiologist so can actually boast being more cerebral than Stephen Fry.

    Worst pick of 2024 Deathlist?

He's hardly the first person who's name I only know because they appeared on this site.

So .. What Do You Watch On TV?

They're just cheap schedule-filler. It'll be pocket change for Stephen Fry compared with the money he'll be making from his books.

So .. What Do You Watch On TV?

It's from 4pm till 5 every day till 24th January. Dragging it out so long kinda spoils the format.

So .. What Do You Watch On TV?

It's too long, that's why. That makes it seem repetitive and dull. The original US series is only 30 minutes per episode.

    Queen Margrethe II of Denmark

Thank god we in the UK didn't follow that custom with Edward VIII...
  25. Ooh yes, good point. Still, it could really test the major news outlets in this country, trying to provide informed coverage of both. The US election campaigns have a reputation for being more 'dramatic', plus the race is a lot closer there than it is here.
