I don't think even the worst possible government would actually force you to enjoy the benefits of free universal healthcare if you were to insist on paying your way. Assuming you could. As stated in my previous post, nap, we won't have a choice once government run healthcare is established. Free you say? What in life is free? Won't we be paying for this through our taxes? I'd rather continue to pay as I have been than put something as important as our health in the government's control and pay fro that. Assuming I could pay? I have been paying for my healthcare since becoming an adult. It may sound like a strange concept but people can and do pay for things like healthcare, food and housing. Deadsox - seems like you are one of the lucky ones who currently have a choice. What about the others? That is what this is about surely? I am pretty sure you will still be OK but now hopefully millions more will be too

I've been timid to reply as of late... You guys bash me most of the time and I'm an Aussie (although I do hold British citizenship). You might have the Ashes and you might have an undeserved sense of accomplishment, but we have nicer beaches. Score one to Australia. P.S. I'm an AFL man anyway. Well thats nothing to boast about. Here, let me paraphrase... I have been coming here for years to read what others contribute, but I couldn't be arsed posting anything because I was happy to just sponge off others. I would be happy for GR to update the homepage once a month, you know, like every four weeks, but I mean, it's taking him weeks. Sometimes it can be as many as four! I know I said I'd be happy with that, but, for God's sake, I said that, like over a sentence ago! I won't be coming back to a website that's updated as often as I said I'd be happy with. I mean, it's just ridiculous that things aren't done quicker than I want when I've contributed so much over the years in this single post. I'm calling for GR to stop putting in more effort than me, and force someone else to jump to my tune and be on call at a moment's notice to update it instantaneously. I won't know whether he has or even care, because I'm so annoyed I won't be coming back. It's all too much effort to actually come back, and heaven forbid that I contribute anything. That's be waaaay too much work for a whinging sponger like me. And by the way, I''m going to whack in some useless analogy about US bus drivers, because that's the breadth of my vision for describing people who I consider do more work than me but are fair game for derision.
