Yes I loved this post too. As you say there's almost just too much material to deal with. I wonder what sort of depths of self-righteous, self-pitying, chip-on-shoulder bitterness you have to plum to come up with something like that? I suppose it explains the traditional old-world family values of the lovable Scouser footie supporter - a smile, a song and a headbutt.
I can't actually remember a death that's got better reactions than EH. I can see he was quite a nice bloke with a silly laugh who groped the Princess Royal on QoS, and there's the football stuff, but come on! It really is alarming that there are these really weird hate-filled people out there (well in the North anyway). And how can so many people have the arrogance to pretend they are actually grieving for someone they don't know personally and wouldn't give a damn about if he hadn't played for one particular club?
Are there any more lovable Scousers about to hand in their season tickets? - maybe one of the grievers could actually physically explode with "maudlin self-indulgence" over the net - I'd pay good money to see that...
