  1. Experience what it's like to be Noel Edmonds I read this today, and found myself agreeing with the annoying gnome-like naked car speeding washed up former DJ. Do I need to seek psychiatric help?

That really did make me laugh out loud. Not a good idea when you're the only person in a cyber cafe. They have cyber cafes on the Isle of Man?! Glad it cheered you up H!

    Hollywood Possibilities

The great man is not so active these days, but interestingly is a member of the Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee (along with former vice presidential first lady Joan Mondale). This body of notables meets four times yearly in Washington, D.C and reviews proposals submitted for new US stamp designs. I propose he deserves to be on one himself!

    Comedians & Comedy Writers

Of course, I'm sure you all know that Lennie Bennett's real partner (in the showbiz sense) was Jerry Stevens Anyone know what happened to him? P.S. I did see somehwere that it was the "Lennie and Jerry" show all the way back in the late 70s which introduced us to "The Chuckle Brothers", but can't find anything else to back this up.

Florence "Rusty" Tullis "The strong-willed biker mother of a son with a rare disfiguring disease" She has died (aged 70) a month after being injured in a motorcycle accident. Her story was told in the film "Mask" in which her part was played by Cher. "She would never stop riding motorcycles unless something drastic happened," [her niece, Helen] Cunningham said. "Well, something drastic happened." (Some reports have her name as "Francais" rather than "Florence")

    Near misses 2006

Shame about Dessie! Being the pernickety kind, I went to check the bios of the 3 abovementioned to see if they had died at aged 27, as MPFC suggests. I used that admirable site "Wikipedia" (tag line "bastion of all that is irrefutable"). The results were as follows: Janis Joplin January 19, 1943 - October 4, 1970 Kurt Donald (tee-hee!) Cobain February 20, 1967 - c. April 5, 1994 So they check out, then Jim Morrison "he is a singer" WTF?!!! Check for yourselves. Even that isn't right (surely it should say "was"). I'm sure they'll update the link... eventually, but that's the sum total of information they have on the "Lizard King" at the moment!

Brian Brolly has died aged 70 "Top Broadway producer, founder of Classic and Jazz FM and former head of the Really Useful Theatre Company" He appears also to have been responsible for encouraging Tim Rice and Andrew Lord Weeble, something which should surely be seen as a criminal act...

    The Trumptonshire Trilogy

... talking of which Michael Bond, creator of "The Herbs" (and, of course, "Paddington") is now 80. He has outlived both Ivor Wood (director, died 2004) and the wonderful Gordon Rollings (story editor and narrator, also Charlie Moffit in "Coronation Street") who sadly succumbed to the big "C" in 1985

    The Trumptonshire Trilogy

In a similar vein, I remember a styling from around the late 80s called "The Trumpton Rap" by a band called "The Herbs" (?). This contained the lines: "I said Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble, Grubb. They came out of the fire station And were on their way to the pub Get down!" ... I think The backing track was based on "Rapper's Delight" by "The Sugar Hill Gang" (which was itself, of course, lifted from "Good Times" by "Chic") If anyone can find that one, I'd be very impressed

    World's Oldest

Oldest Rwandan dies Zimurinda Stephen, aged 127. Reputedly the "oldest Rwandan"... in Rwanda... so probably in the World. I suspect there's not too many Rwandans in places such as Mexico and Iceland, and certainly not aged 127+.

    Ideas and possibilities for 2007

TV LEE'S DAD DIES OF CANCER "Lee [Hurst], ex-star of They Think It's All Over, locked himself in his car and told police he was going to swallow 30 painkillers because he was distraught over his dad's treatment" Shame, always used to enjoy his "cheeky chappy" style humour. Probably not going to carry it through, but maybe one to keep an eye on? Another case of a "laughter hiding the tears" type, as with many comics?
