Wolf Rilla has died Hadn't heard of him, but apparently he directed the original "Village of the Damned" in 1960. Thought he is worth noting as his IMDB entry contains some other interesting titles: "Watch it, Sailor!" "Secrets of a Door-to-Door Salesman" (aka "Naughty Wives") "Bedtime with Rosie"* *Starring Una Stubbs, Diana Dors and Johnny "Mike Baldwin" Briggs - is it available on DVD I wonder?!

I see it's written by Joe Pasquale! Haven't heard of any of the cast. Give it a chance, Anubis, I'm convinced there are worse things out there!

    Career Death

I was ripping the Human League's "Travelogue" album onto the computer this week. When it retrieved the info for to their version of "Rock 'n' Roll", the composer was named as "Gary Gutter"! Don't know if that was a deliberate slip or not!

    Name Shame?

Looks a bit like Prince Edward to me. Maybe he paid someone to be him 20 years ago and tried to be anonymous himself, for which you would not blame him and which might explain a LOT!!! Still, think he'd go for a slightly less obvious name than "Christopher EDWARD BUCKINGHAM" !!!

    Near Misses for 2005

I had heard of both William Hootkins and George Swindin. The former is also notable for playing the part of "Mr. X" in the film "Hear My Song". I have to agree with iain, who is proving himself to be a more balanced member of our community as time goes by, since his early "post anything and everything anywhere and everywhere" efforts. We need to note the deaths of these people somewhere. If it needs a separate thread from this one, so be it. However, each person's classification of "famousness" will differ from the next. In an age where every piss poor footballer and jobbing actor is accorded celebrity status by the media, I hardly think we're deviating from the norm! Surely we NEED TO KNOW that Jade Goody's dad died in a KFC toilet
