Fings Aint Wot They Used To Be..

I'll get that. I remember it as being brilliant. Except I hated Emma Thompson. Her bloody awful one woman show shortly after that served to reinforce my prejudice and it took me ages before I started liking her a bit.

I quite like bicycles. You should be cursing the idiots who design roads so badly. Not just in relation to bicycles. British Motorways are a disaster even without cyclists on them.
  3. Thank you everyone for the kind birthday wishes. I did indeed have an excellent day and had quite a lot to drink as many of you advised me to do. I'm already looking forward to the next one.

    John Demjanjuk

I heard he was transported to a prison in Munich. With his age and health he won't survive long in a cell. Adolf Hitler was in prison in Munich. I wonder if it's the same one?

Irate Visitors Rage Here, If You Must.

Mr/Mrs Onthedoor, Can I point out the word is predictable not predictible and aren't not arn't. I hate to correct you twice in a post. There is a very useful utility called “Microsoft Word” that checks your spelling. Now if you leave your address such that I can send my invoice for this invaluable information, it will help prevent your embarrassing spelling problem. Should you have any other problems the Grim Reaper will be round to facilitate a solution as you have usefully given your address. However I am not sure how much he charges for his services. Dear Saint Peter, have you any idea how much Microsoft Word costs? No? Neither have I, but I'm pretty sure it's quite an expensive way of checking your spelling. If you use Firefox you can get a spell checker add on (in British English) for free. But that would be unlikely to interest our ranting friend.

Hmm. Here in the land of beer and sausages that accident would have definitely been the driver's fault. You have to out for cyclists when turning right. Thinks: Wait a minute, they drive on the left over there don't they? Stupid bastard cyclist.

GW Bush is a crook who puts Richard Nixon into a shadow. But I know what you mean.

    Farrah Fawcett

I went on Foxnews.com and they reported the cancer had spread to her liver, she's lost all of her hair, weight has dropped to 86 lbs. and that she has stopped all of the treatment. Her son Redmond was allowed out of jail to visit her. I don't think that she'll make it to the end of the month. She was one of the hottest women from the 70's in my book. Fox News. Was it the Bill O'Reilly show?

    Minimalists (and other classical composers/musicians)

None whatsoever, I'm pleased to say. I'm off to see Harry's new music theatre piece 'The Corridor' in July. See you there. No you won't. But do give him my worst. The *** old ***.

    Minimalists (and other classical composers/musicians)

Any sign of Harrison Birtwistle dying soon? I don't care if he's a minimalist or not. I can't stand him or his music.

    The Dead Of 2009

Ukulele players are cursed... George Formby.. Peter Sellers.. John Lennon.. Bad news indeed for the likes of me.

    The Hartlepool Deadlypool

The death of trades-unionist Jack Jones means points for Mr. Grobler. Eventually.
  13. Happy Birthday ie+! What have you been up to recently?
  14. Aye well he was always completely mental actually. In a way you could consider this development an improvement. I don't know how many people still remember the night when he constantly and untiringly spammed the forum with abusive messages for about six hours, using one proxy server after another to get by the frantic attempts of the mods to block his IP. The only reason he wasn't banned back then was because it wasn't possible. Shame really because he's an incredibly clever, knowledgeable and articulate chap. A sort of anti-Banshees.

    Fidel Castro

I'm not sure I'd want to have "democracy" imposed upon me by means of threats from the USA. Or anything else, for that matter.
  16. Quite a few people who haven't posted for a while have no posts showing up on their profiles. I think it's since the last forum update, but if you do a search you still find posts from them. Heaven knows why. Or perhaps she doesn't.

    Humanity Itself

What we need is a decent war to keep the population down. It's over sixty years since the last real one. Fewer surgical strikes and plenty of carpet bombing. Or a plague. That would do it too.
  18. Tuber Mirum

    Humanity Itself

Quite right, and apart from that the human race and everything it does, makes and destroys is just as much nature as any tree, sperm whale or gulf stream. Which doesn't make it any better if we wipe ourselves out of course.

    Humanity Itself

They say this sort of thing could provide enormous amounts of energy in the future. No need to go messing around with dangerous old nuclear power. It can have dangerous side effects as anyone knows who has read Workington Dynamo.

    Beer

Please don't tell me you intend to ingest your own vomit! I mean better your own than someone else's, but it won't do you any good you know. And it probably won't taste too yummy either.

    Beer

Mmmmm! I hope the bottle of the same stuff which I have just retrieved from the fridge and am enjoying is not out of the same crate as the above. Oh look, sell by date October 2008. Tastes good though.
