2013 DDP Dumping Ground And Salvage Lot
thefunkyfaz replied to Spade_Cooley's topic in DeathList Forum
I stuck Jaruzelski, Stanley Baxter and Dick Van Dyke on the reserves bench, so they may be promoted onto one of my teams for 2014. Unless something happens to them in the meantime. I had been pondering Mick McManus and Richard Davies (Welsh actor off of Please Sir and Bottle Boys) but completely forgot about them when compiling the final lists. Again, maybe next time... -
Davina did have a drug problem when she was in her early 20s, and she was helped through it by her former lover Eric Clapton. She dated old Slowhand when she was in her teens. And he would then have been in his 40s. Not that I'm making any implications...

Francis Matthews has been on my DDP team for couple of years now. I've a feeling he might be indestructible. Just seen Francis Matthews on stage this very evening, at a Film & TV Nostalgia gathering near Elstree (a superb evening!). Very frail and at times somewhat bewildered. Sad to say I think he'll be on my 2013 list, if he lasts that long...

She may still be with us but it seems her ghost is already performing the odd haunting... http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/4439176/Expectant-couple-spot-face-of-Margaret-Thatcher-in-babys-scan.html?OTC-RSS&ATTR=News Don't have nightmares...

Bah. Another name I thought of last "summer" as a possibility for DDP 2012, then didn't write it down and forgot about him by December. Such is life... Note to self...Sandy Gall and Richard Baker for next year's list... I seem to remember shortly after he retired from ITN in the early 90s he was pictured in the papers with cuts on his face having fallen over drunk in the street, but I can't find any reference to this anywhereon t'Internet. DId I imagine this, or does anyone else remember it?

My sister informed me this morning that I had more points on the DDP and another hit on Wormfood Bingo with the words "You win again..."
-
Been a long time coming. As has the first DDP hit for my "Crypt of Chortles" team. But this was the proverbial two birds slain by the same pebble (or something).

I bought a ticket in a lottery to win a Mediterranean cruise. Last week was a rollover...

Alexis "Sigi" Weissenberg, one of the world's greatest classical pianists, has died aged 82: http://www.artsjournal.com/slippeddisc/2012/01/sad-news-great-pianist-dies.html This one's significant to me - when my Dad did his National Service in the Middle East in the late 1940s, he went to a live performance of Rachmaninov's 2nd Piano Concerto in an open air cinema in Haifa at which the then teenage Sigi Weissenberg was tickling the ivories. Dad often used to talk about it with great fondness, and it gave him a lifelong love of that particular piece of music, which is also one of my favourites and was one that Weissenberg became well known for playing. It's just after 11.30 and you're listening to Classic FM...

I had the mighty Brian on my subs list, but thought his father in law Tony Britton may be a more likely choice. So he's on one of my teams...

Not sounding too good either, by all accounts... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/stephen-hawking/8994788/Prof-Stephen-Hawkings-voice-slows-down-as-his-face-muscles-weaken.html

Despite having forgotten to nominate him for either of my DDP teams or my Wormfood Bingo list, the news on Mubarak today sounded grim/hopeful (depending on your point of view: "wheeled into court on a hospital gurney." So I'll nominate Hosni as the first carker of the year...

You ain't the voice of doom, you're the voice of a worthless troll whose life would have been more valuable had you been a blow job. It's the 1st of January and you're talking about "first indications are that 2012 is going to be another dud.....". You are a grade A cunting cuntstain! That's something of an over-reaction, you've displayed far more need of oral relief than he did. After all, he at least didn't resort to overly un-needed and agressive insults Someone needs to relax a bit. Besides, everybodies deathlist is irrelevant this year, because the world ends in December and therefore every one gets 100% hits. 27 May, actually.http://www.the-end.com/ Ha! I say. Ha! It's all a scam. I've lived through at least five ends-of-the worlds, which sounds as contradictory as it is. Of course the world will come to an end, but it won't be a dramatic event. Since it will happen some 4 * 109 years in the future, there'll no people around to watch. After this public information message we'll now resume our regularly scheduled bickering. regards, Hein Hmm. As a man of the cloth (albeit a lay one) I beg to differ - it will be pretty dramatic and people will know about it. But nobody can say when it'll be, just that it will happen. I could now go into full sermon mode... ...but I won't. This is neither the time nor the place and I fear ridicule from unbelieving heathen. Anyway, 2012 deaths... I suppose I should be getting worried. My Dad passed away in 2010, and my older brother (suddenly) in 2011. This leaves me the most senior male in my family and therefore potentially next in line - let's hope there isn't a pattern emerging...

Don't worry Spade, I have something else... As long as its not along the lines of his 'pissing away'. Well, if you listen very carefully... regards, Hein Bye-de-bye?

He was on my list of possibilities for 2011, but was he on my final list...? Ah no, tish, would that he were.

(Narrated by the amusingly named Gay Soper, who starred in the film on the previous post. Do I maybe know slightly too much about this genre of movie...?) -
