  1. Anyway... Think you will find that the UK has some number between 180 and 210 nuclear warheads. Exact number top secret classified. They would make a real mess of any country that want to truly test our metal. And no, on the issue of whether we need US permission to fire them, that too is an athamer. The captain can launch them, without any external input, especially if contact can't be made and it looks like the UK was the prior subject of a cataclysmic attack. The trident subs will carry 4 warheads and sometimes not all of them will be operational. There may be others on land, or maybe not. There were plenty of US ones. One weapon can make enough of a mess for everybody. And yes the US can block launches through technology, whether it gives permission or not. I really don't know why you need to keep getting wrapped round your tits... From wiki... Armament: 4 × 21 in (533 mm) torpedo tubes for: Spearfish heavyweight torpedoes 16 ballistic missile tubes for: 16 × Lockheed Trident II D5 SLBMs (carrying up to 8 warheads each) Do your maths... 16 missiles each topped with upto 8 warheads. Quite likely two singles, two doubles, ten quads, and two full force eight up. That's about 64 warheads on a sub. Not to mention two more active subs fully armed but not hidden in deep water.

That's why left. He's no fool, he knew what was coming... So why not trigger it then Basically... let those who demand you press the button, press it themselves. Aye, he's thinking legacy and the fact this shit comes up to mug your political retirement; he gets to argue he had principles and make disparaging comments on the gorms who shouted loudly about Brexit and then fucked off before they had to do any real work. Bet he's looking at Blair fighting desperately today for his place in history and reckoning the morning after Brexit resignation was a good move. David Cameron is a F U C K I N G arse. He said he would trigger article 50 in this situation and then after he lost the argument he reneges on what needs to be done. Thus brings about uncertainty and starts to undermine the econemy. "look... I told you the markets would crash.." Arse hole. He should have stepped out of number 10, on the following morning to the referendum, told the press he had appointed Boris as the deputy prime minister, then gone to see The Queen to tender his resignation. Job done, let the rest play out.

    By-Election Bingo

The seat is called Gedling, it's normally semi safe Labour, with the Tory party in an easy second place. It's north east of the Nottingham inner 3 city seats, before it gets rural. It used to be a mining area but now that's becoming a country park. Really being said that its the labour vote that's come down so very hard time for out. In essence this area of the country gets well below its ration of spending by government and euro projects. 2nd rate under used public transport links, and many attempts to remove the oap's bus passes. Still we get free 2 hour parking near our high street shopping. But when the sink estates are suffering twice the national average of unemployment and many others under employed there is no dought that people wish to object to euro money being wasted left right and centre. And latest figures ignoring the 6% undecided are standing at 72.5% Vote Leave, 27.5% RemaIN. All that makes sense, but I'm afraid if they think that leaving the EU will lead to that money coming their way they're sorely mistaken. The cause of their problems is government policy not EU policy. We're the 5th largest economy in the world (as the Leavers keep saying) so there's plenty of wealth in the country, the fact it's all concentrated in the south-east pisses us all off. Still, at least we'll all be satisfied when we can royally castigate Prime Minister Johnson and Chancellor Gove instead of those faceless bureaucrats in Brussels. It's going to be a tense night tomorrow... Are you counting Ali? Was at the count. Watching over the 80 or so local government officials who conducted it. Got there at about 10:20pm along with the arrival of some of the 57 ballot boxes. As they sorted the papers into piles to count the total number of votes you could start to understand the weight of each side's likely vote. The first three ballot box tip outs were quite close and not very promising. Then the forth and fifth were like striking gold. As these votes were first counted into tens we could start to see local pockets averaging 3/7 2/8 and 1/9 ratios in favour of out. By 1am they had the sum total number of votes cast and a turnout figure. And at this point I remember thinking that the 74% figure was a bit on the small side and could only help our cause. Still it looked too close to call nationally. Definatly a local win but more likely a nation loss to RemaIN.I had predictions from conducting my own exit poll study during the day that it would be a local win for leave in the region of 61%. But as the count continued, into a second phase after 1:30am, this time by sepperating each of the 67 bundles of one thousand votes into two piles it looked closer. As each pair of stacks rose it was just becoming obvious that they had an advantage to Leave. Then when sorted, the piles were counted down into tens then grouped into hundreds. Each table of counters was getting wins for Leave and news began filtering in from other counts to increase the Leave lead bit by bit. By 4:30 the count concluded for us. About six hours of considerable manual effort to get to a position of knowing exactly how many would count for each side and to have assessed each vote visually to assess if it was valid and correctly cast. In the end only 58 rejected votes were noted. The saddest being that signed by an old lady of 97. By writing her name and date of birth in the lower left hand corner she invalidated her own vote to Leave the EU. The drive home was punctuated by the news on radio that Wales had voted to Leave and only then it was dawning in more ways than one that the country had the courage to stand on it's own two feet again. Watched some TV coverage but fell asleep on the sofa about 5:30am. Woke from my slumber at about 7:30am to Mrs H getting up and muddled through the day, attending the school sports day for my lad in the afternoon blazing sun, with only a late siesta afterwards. Partied Friday night with the winning team (mainly UKIPers, a number of ex conservatives, a LibDem for out, some new blood and a few of exLabour types, me included) at a local pub from 8pm till midnight. Shot through with all the effort and now recovering after yet another alcohol charged event last night of a secondary school reunion for us group of 50 years olds. Mad... Question is do I join this post BREXIT UKIP party? They are a more normal bunch of people than any political crowd I've ever come across! Exuberant and realistic but I could not be classed as close to rampant extremist or anything racist.

For a day at least. Those f***ers will be back to pollute the airwaves with bile-infested verbal shite for another week, though I did wonder today what this all means for the EU referendum. Personally I'm all for putting it off. I know they won't, and it would cause political and economic turmoil but what's the alternative? Take the weekend to come to terms with the death of a colleague and then everyone back here bright and early Monday morning to spend a week kicking shit out of each other over stuff nobody understands anyway? Given David Icke and other wackos are already running with her death being a fake designed to affect the result of the referendum by convincing more people to vote to remain - it'll be interesting to see if it does actually effect the polls. At the point we stopped "ripping shit" out of each other, my canvassing return was standing at 70% Vote Leave, 30% RemaIN. No doubt nutters like David Icke will have hold of the wrong end of the stick, but unfortunately I must say at least he has hold of the correct stick. Tensions all round have been rising. Yesterday's murder of Jo Cox very well could have been a consiquence of disperate party politics affecting people's minds. It could so eailly have been Boris Johnson, Nigel Farage or Michael Gove that were shot by a left wing nutter who saw the referendum as some sort of a right wing Tory take over or racist plot. I've read madness postings that point to Britain and Europe being targeted as some sort of Halibut take over plot in the medium term by EU free movement and higher birth rates. Both sides are to blame for the outcome yesterday. For the RemaIN side I must say lots of people have the opinion that lies are being told to the public. Cameron and Osborne are often called out as cases in point to me. They really need to shoulder some of that blame, and reflect on their utterances about the "Chicken Little" like statements about the sky falling in on everyone. No one likes lies and some people take real offence. Offence to the point of murder was always possible. I had forseen violence of the people in mass riot, after a result in favour of a RemaIN win due to them fixing it behind the scenes. By the sounds of it, nutters like Icke are already adding 2 and 2 together and getting 22. They see it as the precursor to explain away any result in favour of a RemaIN win as being a perfect cover story of a simple sympathy vote that has swung at least enough votes to land it without any further explanation necessarily required. And in some ways it very well could be. However that's very far fetched, but again to these people who take everything too personally and too literally, those in power just look at the bad news as being just too tasty to past over in the round. All I can say is, it's very sad all round. Out of interest Ali where are you canvassing?. The seat is called Gedling, it's normally semi safe Labour, with the Tory party in an easy second place. Still talking with real people in their front gardens. Ad-hock current score card from my leafleting rounds stands at 54 committed to Vote Leave, 12 views to RemaIN (to stay a xenophobic european). 10 undecided and 5 who would not say. Split those undecided evenly (even though the two values are widely spaced) add in all those who would not say, to RemaIN (to subsidise bullfighting), and then it's 59/22. And as a percentage split it looks like 73% Vote Leave, 27% RemaIN (to stay locked in a padded cell). Sorry. Not close at all.

    The EU Referendum Hokey Cokey

Interesting retort this morning from Remain In, that the Vote Leave camp have not identified what the plan for the country, going forward after a theoretical win for Out. I would think it would be bloody obvious by now. We would be the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, a sovereign country again. Still in NATO, still with a seat at the UN, still geograpcally in Europe. Able to make deals with and trade with what ever countries want to do business with us. Not just not a dumb pile of rocks, housing 65 million downtrodden people, being ruled by 28 anti democratic plutocrats from Brussels. Earlier up the thread I voiced that the result would in every case be a fixed win for Remain In. Yesterday evening I was out on the door step in full on, politics mode doing what is known as a canvas. Trying to gauge support and listen to concerns. Less so in trying to win votes, more understanding what is going on with how people are committing to the problem of an uncertain future. The support for leaving is overwhelming. No doubt in that. During an hour and a half, having personally canvassed the opinions of 33 people, (got too many "empty" houses) I found only 3 people who would tell me that they would vote to remain in the EU. With all the other uncertainty voiced by people who are yet to make their mind up (another 6 voters) and a little week support on both sides, and one old dear fella saying kindly that it was a private matter, bless him, the likely outcome on this tiny sample would be about 72.5% Vote Leave, 27.5% Remain In. That's not 50/50. Even with a HUGE margin (100%) of error does it look likely the Remain In vote could win. So if they do, then a rigging of the poll would be certain to have taken place. Now I've spoken about riots. That's a real possibility in such situations and the feeling on the ground would ring alarm bells for many and the thick idiots may do silly things in the few days that follow. But it falls on many people to stay calm and protest peacefully, say they won't pay their taxes or start fuel protests, with the desire that political matters will flux without bloodshed. If opinion runs true that the election was rigged and DC won't be called to account for dirty tricks and stand down, then the pressure will be on for mass cabinet resignations from the Brexiter MPs in the Tory ranks. This could play two ways. 1. If DC would be asked to stand down by the 1922 committee. Now if he refused then I'm sure Boris would put up a challenging bid, gain the necessary support and thus force and win a leadership election. Or 2. A vote of no confidence in the government could be called and should it be lost, DC would have to fight another general election. Now he is on record as saying he does not want to do that, so it would be more likely that George Osborne would chance his arm. But. Should the Leave camp be allowed to win... Then even more bets are off. Cameron and Osborne, joined at the hip so far, would both have to resign. Maybe even leave the House of Commons. Really, anything less would not be tennis. A leadership election would be called and Boris would undoubtedly be the only candidate thus not needing the party to vote. If a challenger did come forward from the remain camp then they would be surely be trounced simply by the betting odds currently running on Boris to win a fight with anyone. A new cabinet would efficiency withdraw the country from the EU within 2 years and go to the polls again on the due date in 2020. However, say DC was to try and stick it out, and carry on in the EU regardless. Mass resignations from the Tory ranks could follow and should they run off and form a new group, such as "Truth, Justice and Democracy Party", UKIP may like the sound of that and the two merge. The few Labour Leave MP's join too and the country limps on with a minority Conservative government until the Tory and ever more irrelevant Labour party are wiped from the map in 4 years time after a remarkable Boris and Nigel landslide win. Anyway it looks like it's going to end with someone in tears.
