Sorry for your loss @Bibliogryphon

Yes that's where I know him from. It was an episode of Mash Cast ( a M*A*S*H podcast) which alerted me to his death.

Thanks I have found this report via his partner Melinda Mullins' wiki Taos Talking Pictures founder Joshua Bryant dies | Film | taosnews.com

Barbara Leigh Hunt is one for List of the Missed. Sugar Pie De Santo had picked my me in the past but doesn't seem to have a QO so don't know if she counts as Lost or Missed?

I meant to start this last year after Bacall's death and the 40th anniversary of the film. There aren't many of the cast still with us, thought I'd start a thread to see what is what as I think we'll lose at least one more before the end of 2016. Sean Connery - born 1930 has had throat cancer in the past and is rumoured to have dementia of some sort Albert Finney - born 1936 , kidney cancer Michael York - born 1942 amyloidosis Vanessa Redgrave - born 1937, not aware of any health issues. Jacqueline Bisset - born 1944, not aware of any health issues I think that's all the main ones who are still with us I knew there was someone else, Vernon Dobtcheff born 1934, still working
-
Well, everyone else is starting threads on topics only they'll be interested in so I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon. What elderly or ill linguistic/language scholars can we think of? Chomsky is the obvious one, there's also Eugene Nida whom I've mentioned before. Then we have Charles Randolph Quirk, Baron Quirk - born 1920, obit guaranteed, he's also a Manxman which was going to be other topic. William Labov - born 1927, obit likely George Steiner - born 1929, obit guaranteed Richard Gendall - born 1924, Cornish language expert , obit possible

I'm surprised he was only 66. He looked 40, 40 years ago.
-
Yeah, they always die when I retire a team.
-
He's no longer responding to autographs apparently, so , sadly, I think you may be right.
-
Yes I did too.

Thanks. I'm still not sure I get though, why a chimney? Is it something to do with being cremated? -

I imagine I'm being very dense, but what's this all about? I've seen it on a few places and I don't get it. -
With news that a third series of Twin Peaks is in the pipeline, I thought I'd start a thread for all things Lynch related, but especially those might be possible dead pool picks. Twin Peaks Warren Frost is 90 next year so may be worth a look, Piper Laurie and Russ Tamblyn are also getting up there in years, Michael. J. Anderson had some sort of breakdown last year and I don't think Lara Flynn Boyle is human any more. From Lost Highway Robert Loggia and Robert Blake have been mentioned elsewhere as possibilities. Any more we can think of?
