Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber Has Cancer World renowned composer Andrew Lloyd Webber has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, it has been revealed. The 61-year-old star is undergoing treatment and expects to return to work within a couple of months. A statement issued by his spokespeople said: "Andrew Lloyd Webber has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. "The condition is in its very early stages. "Andrew is now undergoing treatment and expects to be fully back at work before the end of the year."

I figure that her pancreatic cancer will be a close call between 2009 and 2010. I say she makes it so....

Old age is bad for you.. I'm going to take up smoking at 80. I'm not sure that I'll really enjoy years 80 plus unless I have a hobby.

I was half expecting that, bless you. Thing is, no matter how much you talk me up, I still only get about 15 out 50. It would be a fluke to have more that say 25 out of 50 and damn near impossible to approach the 50 unless some mega programme were built to crunch the numbers with such accuracy that left no power to keep the lights on. Oooo I love it when you start talking numbers! I think that 25 is nearly impossible, especially with the level of fame that the Committee members use. In the pool that I am in where you pick 68 names (with similar fame thresholds), the record is 27 hits and that is for all entries since 1972. You could maybe get near 25 if you made the list of anyone that will get an Obit (so the DDP rules). Although a list of 50 Kate Grangers would not be very interesting.

I don't know him at all but in reading his posts I went from 1) liking him as a creative guy who won't let people tell him what to think (I like that he is Vegan that loves MMA and boxing); to 2) disliking him for his preachy, I'm better than you nonsense. "I will give everything away to PETA and anti-whaling ships" It has been brought up that he could give money to AIDS or hunger or pediatric cancer but in fairness it is his money so he can do what he wants with it. My opinion is that he is a smart guy and that he knows that he will get more run out of PETA then if he donated it to a cancer charity. They are naming a ship after him that rams into whale ships; isn't that more exciting to track than an Ebola hospital; and then finally 3) realize that he is a scared guy that is the same as anyone else. The fact that he is making a point of saying that he hasn't watched the Simpson's in 20 years should about cover it. Why would you disavow what most would consider to be your most memorable creation unless you were really scared. I'd be scared to. I wish him well on his journey.

I like this pick because I think that this site gets hung up talking about the same stuff. Live long and prosper I guess.

Did you make a ruling on Jack Ramsay? He doesn't appear in the scoring or the list of the lost. Looks like his death has been acknowledged on yahoo UK a couple of times. Not sure if that is enough.

As someone that has recently inherited running a long running US-based game, I have crazy respect for MIB. I had only 110 teams (albeit with 68 selections) and I was up and running after the DDP this morning and I don't have pictures, etc. Amazing job.

I like his inclusion. Interesting to track some under 85 types. Good chance for success as well me thinks.
