Ironic that his life was limited to 56.

Apologies if it's posted elsewhere....it's full-time for Tommy Burns who's succumbed to skin cancer at 51. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...tic/7402185.stm

I'd second that, preferably a Toxic Twins double bill with Amy Winehouse in some manky rat-infested shooting gallery.

Yee ha! Finally he does the decent thing, I just felt the world get lighter.

Ahhh, come on. For sheer entertainment value and a whole new lexicon of medical terminology like "brain failure" it's been hard to beat. And the latest one, hot off the press...... http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/01/24/...sia-Suharto.php "JAKARTA, Indonesia: Former Indonesian dictator Suharto ate half a biscuit Thursday as his health improved marginally but he remained in critical condition and attached to a ventilator, doctors said." then further down the same article "...has suffered multiple organ failure and is on a ventilator, dialysis machine and is being fed through a tube". Does it count as "eating" if they've fired a custard cream down a tube??? Given his latest supposed problem maybe a digestive biscuit would have been more appropriate?? Of course it's a hoax, but I'm enjoying the farcical execution of it. Not as much as I'd enjoy his actual execution though.

It's an interesting theory, and call me cynical if you like......but could it not have more to do with the thousands of dollars worth of life-support he's hooked up to and the crack team of top docs feverishly attending to his every bodily disfunction?????? Here's an idea, let's test that theory and see how he gets on with Jimat alone.

From the stream of high-ranking officials of his own nation and others in the region who've supposedly been flocking to the studio...sorry, "hospital" and their praise for how he 'might have made some mistakes but look how well he made the trains run', I'd say the chances are 50-50 he'll never see a jail cell.
-
aka there are no (immediate) threats to his life anymore. Unless you count an angry mob as a threat.... "When the law fails to side with the people, don't blame them if they take matters into their own hand," said Napitupulu, a prominent activist during the 1998 student protests. He said his organisation, which claims to number around 10,000 activists, was considering to try to "take over" the hospital where Suharto was being treated in the same way activists took over the parliament building in 1998. http://uk.reuters.com/article/worldNews/id...lBrandChannel=0 Go on....pull the plug.

I don't doubt he'll cark it in 2008, but from a purely selfish point of view I fear it'll be too late for my work's pool. No doubt Clive Dunn, Jimmy Saville or some other relatively benign celebrity will quietly shuffle off and rob me.
-
I couldn't agree more. I'm no doctor but to go through the full range of medical nasties like pneumonia, sepsis, multiple organ failure, "brain failure", cardiac arrest, ingrowing toenails and end up fully conscious and supposedly feeling well seems a tad far fetched??? He's either pan bread already or chuckling in his mansion at the gullible mugs following every twist and turn of his very own episode of ER.

and i thought they were less than fifty-fifty even before this. I thought his brain failed a couple of days ago, whatever that means???? Is it like bingo where they have to wait for the full set of organs to fail before shouting "house"? This is getting tedious.....do the decent thing and pull the plug on the genocidal old fu&%er. Even if it is only so I can collect £300 from my work's pool.

I didn't want too much egg on my face when I got it wrong, thats why I gave him so much time. Truth be told end of the week would be about right I wouldn't worry about that. I'm 100% wrong on my predictions on who will be the next to go. No doubt some 'rank' outsider will cark it and rob me the day before Suharto.
-
Does he have a court appearance soon or summat?? Hope this is the real deal as there's a guilt-free £300 in my work's pool with my name on it if he goes. Yee ha
