Whether any Labour types would defect there, though...electoral suicide surely I'd say new party was favourite. They could call themselves New Labour, or something...

I've been thinking about having a Drop 40 bonus since the summer. It's time it had some significance to the game , rather than there as decoration. So I finally decided to have a go at the coding/database and did an experiment, adding Drop 40 to the HTA and altering the picks on the database (basically add Drop 40 picks as an extra column and making the necessary indication). And it only went and bloody worked, didn't it! However, I'm not going to over load the competition with bonuses, so I'm going to operate on a "one in-one out" basis and the prime candidate for deletion is the Unlucky 13 bonus. I think 3 points for a Drop 40 pick is good enough, which would be one more point than U13, but will affect more teams but conversely, a miniscule number of hits (1.26%!). An effect of this might be to encourage more mainstream picks but of course we wouldn't know who would be in the Drop 40 until it's revealed in January. It would be the ultimate blind auction!

See off Trump (50% of the electorate breathe a sigh of relief), Clinton dies (another 50% of the electorate breathe a sigh of relief). Kaine comes in and we get an uncontroversial, bland and compliant POTUS (100% of the Pentagon breathes a sigh of relief)

Because they insist on calling it 9/11, I'm always mildly surprised when this comes up in September, because my brain naturally thinks November. I've always been suspicious about the fact that Britain's own Islamic terrorist atrocity in 2005 took place on 7/7, just so no-one would get confused about the date, like...
