Good for her! (and my Generation Game team) Thank you, Willz. I was surprised a female author writing about anything at all didn't receive a Guardian obit.

Imagine if she pegs it on Christmas morning. That would make things awkward wouldn't it?

Deddie Davies, always called upon when a British TV show needed a nervous spinster type, dead at 78.
I remember her from the remade Rag Trade and Waiting For God in particular.
She was also Mrs Perks in 'The Railway Children'...

It's really annoying. Telegraph and Financial Times have also gone premium in respect of obits and the Indy is useless (and is being dropped anyway).
So difficult to read about these people in any detail any more.
Indeed how long will it be before obituaries on those cannot be accessed, so we wouldn't be able to see if anyone has got a legit obit?
That means more Daily Mail...

Without double checking, I believe this year's Drop 40 becomes the most successful iteration?
For the record:
2011 - 6
2012 - 12
2013 - 11
2014 - 11
2015 - 4
2016 - 13
So, yeah...

I think it probably is and we need a new leader of the pack!
Nice of her to go relatively early in the nomination period too. That would have been a nightmare replacing her 150 or so times if she went on December 31st.
Think there'll be an update tomorrow, seems the right time...

Do you think there's a chance that Carl Palmer with die, soon, & have it be the first time, in awhile, I guess, that and entire band has died, in one year?
Viola Beach sewed that one up earlier in the Year..
Mamonas Assassinas did it 20 years earlier though.
London Boys beat Mamonas Assassinas by two months.
Raise you Lynyrd Skynyrd..

I've put a small each way bet at 33s for Dave Chisnall @ the PDC World Darts.
Went to the bookies, clean-shaven and slightly lost trying to find the Darts slips etc.
Assistant came out of his booth and asked me for my ID.
I am 41 years old...

Well, last night I was on my own and I was watching the Doco about The Dave Clark Five which, eventually, led me to look up Cathy McGowan which, eventually, led me to a thread on a forum somewhere which suggested that her hubby Michael Ball had played 'Hunt The Sausage' with Prince Edward as well as doing some all in naked wrestling with John Barrowman in a dressing room.
Anybody heard anything?
Cathy McGowan and Michael Ball? That's the strangest rumour of the lot!
There's a whiff of lavender about that, I reckon...

Michael Nicholson http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-38349366
There were times, in his career, when he came across as somebody who saw himself as bigger and/or more important than the conflict he was reporting on.
I remember him being the newscaster on The News at 545. Remember that?

Got that "slowly starting to talk myself out of my uniques" fever at the moment.
Let's put it this way: you had only 1 unique in your squad in 2016...

Arguably the greatest Columbo villain OAT Jack Cassidy, who was one of three actors to play the murderer three times in the show (alongside Patrick McGoohan and Robert Culp), died today in 1976. He also shagged Cole Porter.
Only three times? I thought he was the villain every other episode! Mind you, so did Peter Falk by the end...

Radio Times is bought. I've ringed all the films to record and then delete unwatched in June. The spirit is starting to take hold.
There's not much point me doing that, as I've had no signal since at least April (I turned it on hoping to watch the Grand National) but I haven't been arsed to call the aerial man out.
Well it's on ITV next year so you may get a better chance of seeing it!
