I read somewhere a couple of days ago that Henry Allingham was in hospital, but is "expected to make a full recovery". Edit: here's a link

It's only "a state funeral in his beloved hometown of Broken Hill", not in a major city. I've never heard of him either.

A few years ago a dentist broke off a tooth she was trying to extract, leaving a bit in the gum. I had to go back & have the leftover bit cut out. Next day I woke up with a big bubble of blood in my mouth (lots of surface tension).

I think the SAS should've left him at the mercy of the kidnappers..

Reading this got me thinking about how I'd like to die. Being eating by a crocodile wouldn't be high on my list. Living to 90 & going "peacefully in my sleep" is my current favourite. Do other DL-ers have a preferred mode of death?

Belfast Airport is going to be renamed George Best Airport. It would've been more appropriate to name a pub after him....
