It's 124 years since the death of Sir Arthur Sullivan, half of the well-known Gilbert & Sullivan, of heart failure, aged 58. In addition to his operatic compositions, he also wrote "St. Gertrude", which achieved everlasting fame as the melody to "Onward Christian Soldiers".

Unless anyone can provide a compelling reason not to award "Roger Guillemin" points I shall do so shortly; seems to me all the qualification criteria have been met.

Re wannamkers link to The Times website, the DDP rules specify "thetimes.co.uk" but that seems to redirect to "thetimes.com", at least thats what I'm finding - anyone else finsing this too, or is it just me? Even Anthony Epstein's obit link in the DDP, which is entered as "thetimes.co.uk" etc, redirects to "thetimes.com"
