Who's owning up to being Freo Pope then? -
Katy Manning tweeted that she had tea & cake with him yesterday, so presumably pre-surgery.

Former Irish international (four caps) David Tweed, killed in motorcycle accident, aged 61. He'd previously been imprisoned on child sex charges which were later quashed by the court of appeal.

Have you got this one?

I remember him from when I was just starting to take a real interest in cricket, from either the 74-75 or 1975 Ashes. More likely the home series. Still around the next time the Ashes were contested (five years later) though didn't figure as much. -

A reminder that what we want carries absolutely no weight with the committee! Also, to me, Gehry is 'deathlisty', but then we each have our own reasoning as to who is & isn't Deathlisty. -

He is actually quite well-known in the UK (for the Guggenhiem Bilbao mainly), but as, stated above, especially locally for the proposal mentioned. I also, FWIW, think he's a good shout for the list (but bear in mind my picks normally last for years after first selection). -

Gehry is not that obscure, at least not in my neck of the woods, thanks to his innovative design for a a never-realised development a few years ago. Just Fontaine will probably get some coverage, the amount depending on the proximity to a FIFA World Cup Finals. Kundera isn't a household name, granted, but who hasn't heard of The Unbearable Lightness of Being? Francoise Hardy, give you that one. -
An occasion where its wise to include first name as well as surname in the headline.

I can guess the gist of the punchline; alas, Wenner isn't remembered by me at all. Looking at the list of presenters on wikipedia, I remember about half of them (Val, John & Pete were my presenters, in much the same way as Jon Pertwee was my Doctor).

Also appeared in Doctor Who (The Awakening, 1984), edited to be a non-speaking part, uncredited according to IMDb.

Small comfort to those of us perturbed by the seemingly random deletion of lists of former cabinet ministers and old world leaders etc, but at least the list of animal sounds has escaped the cut. -
Russell Hardy "Other Lives" obit, by Humphrey Ocean.

Il mort, as they say over the water.

More of a question really - I'm by no means a dog expert, but surely, this dog (loved by Benedict Cumberbatch & George Clooney, and now dead) isn't a miniature dachshund?

Ginny Mancini, widow of Henry and a former singer herself, has died aged 97. She was also a noted philanthropist.

Bugger. I've just found out I'm going to lose my internet connection from my computer because its giving MicroSoft problems because I've been infected by a trojan. At least that's what the nice Indian-sounding gentleman told me before I hung up on him. -
I get that, but this particular show seems to plumb depths other shows can only dream of. Here's the Homer question, as it appeared: Every time I see any of this program it drags me in to see how bad that days competitors are (in my defence, I was reading and needed a break for something lighter this afternoon).

If any game show belongs in Room 101, its Tipping Point. Where the fuck do they get these contestants from? Thicker than thickest thick thing you can think of. Denser than the densest dense thing you can think of (and I say that as someone who's had a relative appear on it). Flightless bird on the New Zealand dollar coin? Penguin. Apart from Nectar, what does Homer, in his Epic poems, describe as the food of the Gods? Doughnuts. ITV have to be taking the piss surely.

Guardian (other lives) obit for Ian Gardiner.

Val Bisoglio, previously mentioned in these parts in the deadpool detective work thread, has died aged 95.

I used to watch that show, don't remember the staring though.
