It was an unfortunate wakeboarding accident that did him in. Otherwise he'd still be with us until at least 2020

Ingvar Kamprad, founder of a small, family-owned, neighbourhood furniture store called IKEA (You might've heard of it). According to this article (Warning: Swedish) he wants to relocate back to his hometown, due to health reasons. Although he claims there aren't any 'serious' health issues, it's said that he's been cared for by doctors for most of his adult life. He also stepped down as chairman of IKEA a few months ago. It's not necessarily health related, but here are some other tidbits: He's a former heavy-alcoholic, he was fitted with pacemaker a few years ago, was really broken up over the death of his wife in late 2011, and turns 88 in March 2014. I was gonna keep him as a unique pick for 2014, but I just love sharing. Discuss: Is he one to watch out for in the coming year? Think he's a contender for the Official DL 2014 line-up? Or will he stick around a while longer?

its not like anyone will follow the instructions anyway..

I thought a more 'official' thread was gonna be posted closer to the end of the year, per usual, but I guess I'll share my picks here than, (probably not unique)... I.M Pei - Architect: Turns 101 in April, lives in an assisted-care facility. James Watson - Molecular Biologist (Watson & Crick): Turns 90, visibly frail, and losing his mind; but still, one of the biggest names in science. Roberta Flack - Two-time Grammy-Winning Singer (Killing Me Softly, First Time I Ever Saw Your Face): Turns 81, hospitalized earlier this year, ongoing legal and health problems, wheelchair-bound Neil Simon - Playwright (The Odd Couple), Pulitzer Prize winner: Turns 91 next year, suffers from Alzhiemers (would be shocked if no one has mention this yet). Loretta Lynn - Country singer (world-renown w/ multiple gold albums): Turns 86 next year, severe bout of pneumonia previously, and is still recivering from a stroke from earlier this year. Barbara Walters - Journalist: Has reportedly become very frail, has retired completely from the public eye; might not be famous in the UK (I mean, you guys didn't even know Gord Downie). William Goldman - Author/Screenwriter (Princess Bride, All of The Presidents Men, A Bridge Too Far, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid): was pretty frail last time he was seen in 2015; not a lot of health news since then, turns 86 next year. Katherine Johnson - NASA Mathematician and 'Hidden Figure': Turns 100 next year, wheelchair-bound and frail... par for the course with 100-year olds typically.

was he really that awful? i thought he was just your average trump supporter. (hint for the slow people: this statement is intended to be a satirical examination of current events, wherein I compare Manson's heinous crimes and beliefs to those of the white nationalist trump supporters you may have seen on the news; it is also a sad observation of the society we live in, in which these beliefs are tolerated and even enabled by people in political office, whereas Charles Manson and his gang were shunned for them).

excellent. I just need one more hit to break my record

thanks for the update. i suppose the inclusion of yourself on your own list (no.15) is just a means of teasing us, you sly dog!

with so many old dudes being outed as sexual predators (Cosby, CK, Spacey, Weinstein, Ghomeshi, O'Reilly, Bush, Moore...), can the concept of the deathlist be extended to include careers of celebrities as well?
