If anyone's thinking of taking a trip to the Cheltenham Festival next week, I can assure you there will not be a hurricane.

Ok, so maybe I shouldnt have put Gerald Ford on the list and I only included him as one of the two US Presidents that died in the 2000's, presidential history and death being a hobby of mine. I also put Ford ahead of Hussein in a previous thread about the most significant death of 2006 so it only seemed fair. However in terms of the others I dont see how one would be crazy to say any of them would be at the top. Atta and Hussein were both pivital in terms of global geopolitial events in the 2000's. Reagan and John Paul II were amoung the giants of their time in world history from a political and religious standpoint respectively, JPII's death causing a change in leadership after 26 years of the world's largest religious denomination. Michael Jackson was a global pop icon whose sudden death was news around the globe for months. Also the fact that I put "other" as one of the options means that even I admit my list is not the end all be all. If porn had been a hobby of yours would you have included the likes of Bernard Manning and Dame Thora Hird on your list?

Birthdays, Births, Anniversaries, Etc... For 2010
John Kettley replied to football_fan's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I want to say I love you on your birthday, Though love is something you don't want from me. Things didn't go so well when I last said it, And so I'll keep it silent in my heart. But how the words reverberate within me! A song that I must struggle not to sing, A music I must dance to without motion, A poem that I must never read aloud. Your wishes are a wall I would not scale, Yet won't abandon, loathe to leave behind. I cannot have, and cannot bear to lose you, And so I send you this in my despair. -
That was eloquently written. From this article are we therefore to assume that there are conjoined twins out there that were not conjoined at birth and through some form of negative entropy have alas subsequently become attached at the hip?

Ah, here we go again. Every time someone drops off, some douche yells out "Ya missed that one, didn' ya? LOLZ." The aim of the game is how many on the list are correctly picked. Not how many that aren't on the list die in the year. So now you know how the game is played, I hope to hell you're not going to drop in to point out every death that didn't make the list. You may not have anything better to do, but other DL members probably do. I think I suggested Miep Gies a couple of years ago, but she was one of those that could have lived for ages like the Queen Mum or Madame Chiang Kai Shek (sp?) oh well, my wife is sad to see Gies go, but happy as she's been picking her for the past 8 years I'm in the same position as your wife You old dawg Phantom.

At least with those deaths you kept nice and toasty. It's been a bit nippy lately. -
In what year are you writing? I would hazard a guess pre 2006. Could you pass on your secrets of time travel, Michael Fish would like to go back to that fateful day in October 1987 to change the record. It left him mentally scarred; not many know this but he even turned to crack and cheap whores for comfort as his colleagues shunned him.

Since I also don't like Nazis, I feel abliged to follow your lead. Marge. Since Nazis don't like it up them, I'll forecast a light dusting of Clive Dunn.

How you have the brass neck to make fun of Norfolk folk being inbreds is quite beyond me. You Wiltshire folk are even more perverted and disgusting! Massaging guinea pigs, my arse. Having said all of that Lardy, Im not sure if you are "In the know" regarding the BBC but, if you are, could you get word to the Beebs Susanna Reid and let her know that there is a Python small grass snake in West Norfolk that could do with a massage from her fair hands? That's precisely what Fred Dinenage said in the Green room once. -
Having appeared on Radio Shuttleworth like Sir Patrick, I feel we have similar interests. In fact I think Sir Paddy would be honoured that this thread is somewhat devoted to all things meterological. In fact he has contributed to that well circulated journal Weather, 62, 78 (2007). The rest can be found in the attachment for those unable to get hold of a copy of the Royal Meterological Society's monthly magazine, available free to its members and could possible appeal to the likes of Star Cross(?) and the rest of this jovial community I've stumbled upon. I tell you something for nowt, meterology is not the only interest we have in common. Wincey Willis could tell you a thing or two about my passion for the cosmos. Back in the golden days (before the BBC became over run with these women chiefs, hey Patrick) she'd spend many an hour gazing in awe at my telescope whilst I examined her mound of Venus. Although I have to admit it's nothing like your 15" er Patrick, even when fully extended and as for Venus, I think I prefer Uranus. Weather_in_my_life.pdf

hello, i'm John the weatherman. this looks like a great place. Don't worry madam, there won't be a hurricane like what Michael Fish (spit!) said, but there will be a spate of deaths including those wasters libya bomberman and ronnie biggs. I forecast it so!!! -
Thank you for the welcome, sir. Could you pass me the soap, please?
