'Lady D'Arbanville' by Cat Stevens was written about Patti D'Arbanville, the American model, after their relationship fell apart. He wrote it as if singing to a dead woman!

Isn't the UK's current no.1 'Everybody Hurts' , originally written and recorded by REM, about someone being talked out of committing suicide? I always thought this was a dubious choice as a charity single.

....and coincidentally Mitch Mitchell, drummer with the Jimi Hendrix Experience, was found dead in the Benson Hotel in Portland, Oregon in November, 2008.

Anna Nicole Smith was found unconscious in her room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida after overdosing on drugs. She died in the ambulance on the way to hospital.

Oscar Wilde died in an hotel in Paris in 1900. Johnny Thunders, US punk guitarist and singer, died of a drugs overdose in an hotel in New Orleans. When his body was finally discovered rigor mortis had set in so completely that he was seen to resemble a pretzel and the body bag in which he was removed was U shaped!
