I think the issue is partly that a lot of Scottish ex labour seats seem less interested in culture war politics than their English equivalents. Scottish ex Labour working class seats pretty much all voted remain in the EU by 55% or more while the English equivalents voted leave by massive majorities.

We were doing culture wars here before the rest of the world knew how electorally advantageous they are.

The greatest of all culture wars has seen the vast majority of the Scottish population try to rationalise their political voice at the ballot box over the choice of one word: Yes or No.

You can’t criticise nationalist policy (any nationalist policy mind) without being labelled an yoon. You can’t criticise any Unionist party without being labelled a Snat.

If you support minimum prising for alcohol you probably also support terrorists in Israel. If you support any other party except for Green or SNP you must be a Tory.

    It’s pretty pathetic.

There's also a thread about Liz Truss. These threads only exist to give users a much-needed tirade against the figure in question. Or maybe to speculate on how soon sepsis will set in whenever they get a paper cut.

In the immediate aftermath of Truss there was a reasonable argument that she could have died of embarrassment (suicide).

We all underestimated the brass neck of the woman.

  4. The bloke isn’t dying. Why is there a thread about him?

It’s not like he is the Duke of Sussex who has been left at risk due to his UK security arrangements.

Harry's about to discuss his dad's health on telly. Will likely use to same interview - with no sense of irony - to call out Piers Morgan for splashing royal secrets across the media.

Prince Harry is clearly a scumbag who can’t see that he is worse than Pierce Morgan.

At least Morgan only sells out strangers, not his own family.

Surely even the most ardent Trump hater must admit Biden doesn’t have the cognitive/mental powers to be president even now let alone for another 4 years, saying Biden mentally unfit to be president doesn’t make someone a Trump cheerleader

Most folk would rather have a senile old coot over an angry grandpa.

You're not allowed to come on DL Forums and criticise Sleepy Joe. Don't you dare. His opponent is Orange Man. Orange Man bad. Orange Man baaaaaad.

To be fair, Trump also gets confused easily.

I gather he had a pretty comprehensive medical on accession, so it's not something that's been lurking for very long.

Out of interest, would they have offered the job to someone else if he failed his medical?

You would think people would have the good grace to wait until he is actually dead.

in pretty sure the BBC used their funeral backdrop for the cancer announcement.

Has Donald Jr. achieved anything significant in his own right that didn't result from being a Trump?

Surely it’s a family tradition. Trump Snr got everything from his dad too…

Pie in the sky, he is entitled to 2 more terms by which time he would be 86, if still alive

The succession plan from what i read while back is Don Jr the GOP candidate for 2028

Why bother. Just create a monarchy. All the cool folk are doing it.

If trump wins the White House he wins both houses of congress as well.

He would need to carry two thirds of congress. Thats not going to happen.

If Trump won this year I wouldn't be surprised if he at least tried to abolish the term limit, especially if all those charges and others that might arise threaten him after a second term.

The split in Congress would make that impossible.

Strange as it may be, there are those who vote for Trump know long what he’s like with the safeguard that congress is there to keep him in check.

There did, of course, used to be a Supreme Court which could do that too…

After every election there are people who loose their bloody minds over it.. People went insane when Trump won, and it was no different really with Biden as well.  Chaos ensues regardless the outcome now days.  People cant take the "L" if their candidate doesn't win

If I remember the world was going to end if Obama won…to a certain class of Republican.

The birth (no pun intended) of the Tea Party is what led on to MAGA.
