    Republic (anti-monarchist pressure group)

Did anyone here vote for them?

The BBC and other media ought to know that other brands for Republicism are available for comment. Their leaders has been enthroned even longer than The King…

You have to wonder why he's doing it now when all he had to do was wait a few more bloody months and he'd be out of a job anyway. A case of jump before you're pushed?

He was standing down at the next election anyway.

It’s probably the case that he thought he would get to fuck off in May with the expected election but the thought of having to wait until probably October at the earliest has led to him deciding ‘fuck that’.

If he had never married one of the most famous women in the country he might have got a brief mention on P26 of the Guardian, certainly no leading headlines/newsflash

He is only famous for being married to Kate, his lobbying scandal was nearly 3 decades ago

He is the equivalent of say Coleen Rooney, famous for having a famous other half

One of the ruthless promoters of New Labour.

he can’t be that insignificant if former Prime Ministers are coming out the woodwork to pay tribute. They aren’t doing that because he’s Kate’s man.

I'm wondering if he actually died a couple of days ago and Garraway just didn't announce it until today.

We can forgive a couple of days.

    Just not 5 or more…

  5. Sad news considering his young age, but also considering the quality of life he must have had since his illness you do wonder if its a blessing for him and his family.

I think to a certain degree it should be defined by age. Since puberty can begin as early as 8 or 9 in girls, they're still essentially a child.

I think the law, which says your an arsehole if you are sniffing about anyone under the age of 16, does the trick.

Of course that doesn’t stop the creeps i5”thinking that 16 is fair game when they are in their mid-30s.

I think if we start sub-categorising it starts to give predators an excuse because ‘it’s no so bad’…’grass on the pitch’. The reality is, they are all scumbags who get off on it.

Rumours of him considering abdication being spread by a former Brexit Party candidate

He may well be considering abdication…but not in the immediate future.

Between Jubilees, Funerals and Coronations we can’t afford any more bank holidays for at least 10 year…

  8. Finding Prince Andrew on this list is as surprising as finding a shit in the toilet…immediately after hearing a plop…when sitting on it.

    This isn’t news.

This has never happened when I've gone to visit my dead Nan...

Draper, because he's nowhere near famous enough.

He is a strange one as he technically famous for being ill.

I took the risk and put him on my DDP because he had that previous career yes, but I think the fact that COVID has done this to him - and his wife had projected it into the spotlight - makes it an exception.

He is not an obscure ‘famous for being ill’.

    But I take your point…

Thank god we in the UK didn't follow that custom with Edward VIII...

I suppose it’s the difference of a honourable discharge and a dishonourable discharge.

It is remarkable how long he has lingered.  It will be a significant achievement if he remains alive at his one year hospice anniversary in February.

He has a party to attend in October. He’s going nowhere…

I heard on the radio today, that her status as "Queen" will not remain, and she will be called HRH. She is full on retiring.

Article saying the Danish Government have confirmed she will retain Her Majesty. As an earlier post stated it’s likely she will keep the title Queen unlike Beatrix.

Just call her the Queen Mother.
