Maybe he should get together with Norman Wisdom, who seems to suffer under a similarly time-warped illusion that his old act still has the power to amuse. I disagree. He was quite funny on Letterman and his old films are very funny. Also very good in "The King of Comedy" and "Funnybones".
-
But he had star quality - I can't see the same reaction if any of them had been sent off at this relatively early stage in life. Also, he transcended football in a way that few others have done. Funny how all the people saying he'd be quickly forgotten and deserved to die young are now strangely quiet. Could be the Di syndrome in reverse. Didn't say that he lacked star-qulity. Merely that he was overrated. Don't think anyone could disagree with that. A few good seasons, a dozen memorable games, and two useful years at Fulham do not put him in the same leaugue as Cruyuff (or however he spells it it), Maradonna, Pele, or even Greaves. Agree about the star quality though. A good looking guy.

Peace Activists In Iraq - Brave Or Barmy?
millwall32 replied to maryportfuncity's topic in DeathList Forum
I would go with brave, well intentioned, and barmy. -
We're not on Yahoo, Gigablast or Mamma's front page for "Richard O'Sullivan." Thank you. And thank you for giving the name of two more search engines.

Serious Contenders for Next Years List

Rudy Ray Moore. -
Yes, yes , yes. But he was not that good a player was he. He was only good for 5 or six seasons. He wasn't on a par with Charlton (either sibling in fact) or Law. Definetly wouldn't be in my all-time 11.

No he was on Letterman. The reason I said he was on Letterman rather than Conan is because the name of the show that he was on is "Late Night With David Letterman".
-
Why exactly? Surely a bad thread will just drift down the Forum and be forgotten. I cite this lot as evidence.

A very quick look on Google reveals that if you search for Richard O'Sullivan we are the fourth entry behind only the BBC and IMDB. Does anyone know of any other searches that are likely to bring in the casual punters?
-
Interesting to ponder how "Guest" got here. He presumably googled Richard O'Sullivan and wound up not only on this site but also in this thread. The accumalated weight of all DL posting seems to be increasing the ammount of casual traffic we pick up.

What does George Best have to do with anything.

10 have died so far, 40 are still to go. Who will be the next DL success of 2005? The ranters choice is Fidel Castro. The popular choice is Ronnie Biggs. The safe money is on Brooke Astor. The "I'll put someone on the list ,even though they have no chance of dying, just because they cheated in a football match" option is Diego Maradona. Bill Deedes, J.K. Galbraith, and Norman Wisdom are all in bad health. Patrick Moore could go at any time while chasing an intern around his study in a state of priapic fury. Liz Taylor could choke on an eclair (as the late Peter Cook once pointed out). Gerald Ford could fall off something. Could Peter O'Sullevan be near the finishing post? Is Byron Nelson heading for the 19th hole? Could Michael Foot get ambitious, try to walk the dog all the way down the hill to Chalk Farm and having a coronary failure trying to get back home? Will time do to Alexander Solzhenistyn what Stalin could not? Will High Noon come for Frankie Lane before December 31st? What say you?

I voted yes. I'm feeling optimistic.

A very interesting post for several reasons. Thank you Peter. 1)Despite being a heterosexual when compared to the head of the Third Reich you opted for the "phuck" option over the more direct and effecting "F**k". 2) There is no "prison over population" problem as there are no prisons in the sky. Unless of course you live in some under Return of the Jedi style Cloud City that reigns down convicts on the rest of our law-loving society. (do you by chance look like this ??) I do concede that there may be an over-population problem in prisons though. Dealing with this may overcome (I think you meant?) problem. Although I can't see how. You also assume that all drug users are shoplifters. This is a highly original idea. I assume you are working on the sterotype that all druggies are cash strapped and look like this . You may therefore care to look in this thread and tell me if you think the subject is short of money. Lastly you claim that "Hitler was a poof " in comparison to your good self. I assume that here you are working on the idea that Homosexuality (unless of course you are misspelling puff-as in "of smoke". Do you therefore beleive that Hitler was imaginary?) is in some way connected to not beleiving in the death penalty or unpleasantness. In which case I would ask you to find evidence to support the former and look back up the thread a few posts to rubbish the idea of the latter. Welcome to deathlist St.Peter. I hope you enjoy your time here.

It's not the condition of his teeth, but the fact that they are looking so uncommonly large,He would not have dentures looking like that.So they must be is own teeth, which in his younger days looked o.k. so one can assume something has happened, possible a botched facial. but that would not explain the large intake of air after just a few words and a total fealing of unease you get whlist looking at him.it just seams to me that jack the Lad could soon be jack in the box . . I think it is probably your busines if you get a total feeling of unease while looking at him. Still say that breathing coupled with having teeth are harbingers of good health.

I take your point. We would obviously not wish to imply that CD enjoyed the experience. Nor did I or anyone else suggest a sexual agenda on his part.I think a better question would therefore be- Could we use this testimony to suggest that the erstwhile Barron Hardon has simply spent time with children's heads between his legs. Or more simply that a child has had his head between the legs of the man once known as Percy Pointer?

How could one? She is the most worthless human being on earth. Her job is to be a bitch. Seriously, if you can find one person to defend her I'ld be shocked. I wish I could bang her & Paris Hilton's skulls together in somekind of oversized newton's cradle. Aaaah an American who dislikes shallow celebs. I will defend her on the simple grounds of her being a very funny woman.

Serious Contenders for Next Years List

Tp paraphrase Spike Milligan- I told you he was ill. -
Had never heard of him until I read that link. Certainly there is something deeply, seriously wrong with him getting out after 6 years. Can hardly believe it in fact.

I'll go out on a limb and say no. Imprisoned yes, but I can see absolutely no reason why sex offenders should be given worse treatment than, say, murderers. That is if you are starting from a position of being against the death penalty. Also when you say incurable is that incurable in the sense of not being able to stop commiting sex offences on others or incurable in the sense of not being able to stop thinking about it?" Sex Offender" is a very broad term. Now that I come to read your post again maybe you are right, perhaps they should "not be put down".

Does anyone have enough legal knowledge to tell me- does this mean we can now say as a point of fact that Charlie Drake likes having children's heads between his legs?
