What I actually said was that it was surprising to see that this thread had been started by someone who had two days earlier sent me an unsolicited personal message telling me to be "relative" [sic] aviod being "silly" , stick to talking about the DL itself, and that this was a "mature" forum to which I should only contribute if I was not "letting out pent up energies". I personally fail to see how "where are you from" fits into all of these categories bit I am gald that the same person who feels he is within his rights to send patronising e-mails to strangers also feels he should edit thier posts to. p.s. If you want to delete this could you at least tell me why.

Two things. 1) What poll are you talking about? 2) There is a difference between a poll about something and a disscussion of it. I am talking about the first and the second “Who’s next” poll. There was already a thread dedicated to that topic. So basically what we had was the same material being discussed in those polls that were already being discussed in the “Who’s up next to die this year?" thread. Then you create this poll about whether anyone objects to the number of times per day certain members post to the forum. There are already 3 threads that discuss the same exact thing. They are The Most Obsessive Deathlisters, 300 Posts In A Month and 573 Posts In Under A Month. In your existing polls, you also allow comments to be made about the vote that was made, so it also allows rehashing and duplicates the discussion that took place in the other threads. That is what I mean by duplication. That's a good point. I will make non reply polls in future. Thank you. Glad you had a good point. Still contend that a poll is different from a thread though.

I find myself in agreement with A the J. There are many threads that are becoming petty forums to abuse each other which is ridiculous. On the other hand there are plenty of people who do the majority of their posting about number of posts made by others made by others which is equally pointless. I'm like -"Think of something original to say dude". Also- what exactly constitutes "obbsessive posting"?. When I joined this forum I was on about 20 posts a day, mainly in threads which had been dormant for weeks on end, and that number has gradually dropped off. Does anyone actually imagine that TF will stay on his average of 21.4 (or whatever it is) for long? That is why I made this poll about why people are so concerned about the ammount people are posting and not why people post so much. As for "swinging the axe" is it not a little hypocritical to delete threads to which you yourself have contributed? Also why does startinhg a poll seem to cause so much controversy? Overall, I think it would be a good idea to get the site back to talking about those actually on the DL and trying to come up with as an accurate a list as possible for next year.
