I haven't used this forum much over the last few years and I had no idea that we'd adopted a club.I'll be watching thier results carefully from now on.

On the one hand Dickie O does seem to interest a lot of Deathlisters the way Clive Dunn did. On the other hand, like Clive Dunn, his retirement does seem to be very quiet and it doesn't generate a lot of news. Aye, the long game AKA dead pooling for the discerning fan! I agree, Dickie O is one for the old-school Deathlister.

Depends on what you mean by good? It's pretty dated now (as is any television from the 1970s) both in look and feel (all this dystopian worldview is very much of it's time). However, I've got the first series on DVD and I enjoyed it (I'm only old enough to remember when it had Avon as the leader not Blake and subsequently being confused by the title!) and I hope to get the second series in the not too distant future... I'll give it a go then. Also, I think you'll find that the first series is up on youtube.

The feeling on the other forum I use is that we broke the story and the Sun and Mail picked up on it.Certainly the wording is almost identical. http://www.millwall.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=102308&start=1 That story made me laugh EGN. I think that, sadly, he's a fair bet for next year's list.

I keep on meaning to watch Blake's 7 (all the episodes are up on youtube) but I've not gotten around to it yet. Is it really as good as people say?
-
Yep, I just saw it too. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2271496/Richard-Briers-battling-chronic-lung-disease--lifelong-friend-Prunella-Scales-shocking-confession-own.html ....not that I read The Mail you understand...

When Someone Says "kiss My Ass"

Stupid expression, I never use it. -
Tough times LG, hope it works out.

I didn't know that such things existed (isn't the E.U. wonderful?). If he has I'd say he'll be a "hit" for us pretty soon.
-
We get quite a lot of false illness rumours but I don't remember when we last had a real false death rumour.

I was surprised to see that not only is Anna Wing still alive but she was in a music video last year. http://www.getreading.co.uk/entertainment/music/local_bands/s/2111775_eastenders_actress_has_no_quarrel_with_rock_band

That's handy Maryport, thanks.

Blimey, good research Maryport. -
I had no idea he was a hammer. Have to admit to liking the show and the harsh judgements it deals out though.Hope he gets well soon, ten minutes of Jeremey Kyle usually gets me started quite nicely in the morning.

Things To Do While Waiting For Death
millwall32 replied to football_fan's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Pop over and have a look at the forum I have been largely rejecting this one for these last couple of years. http://www.millwall.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/forum-view.asp?fid=5 -
Writer Peter Goldsworthy sees the epigram, or aphorism, as the building block of all James' writing and considers him to be ''an enormously underrated poet''. ''As many people have probably read his light comic verse such as The Book of My Enemy Has Been Remaindered as have read his classic memoirs, but his enduring achievement might be in poems such as Go Back to the Opal Sunset, or The Lions at Taronga. ''His most recent book, Nefertiti in the Flak Tower, contains many poems of this order - such as Whitman and the Moth or Silent Sky, his powerful elegy for his friend Peter Porter. ''Sadly, his illness means he will probably never see the sunsets, or hear the lions again - which gives these poems a special poignancy.'' Where Will The Next School Massacre Be?
millwall32 replied to maryportfuncity's topic in DeathList Forum
Sad but true.That's why I voted U.S.A. -
Why? It's a terrible, hateful club and while I'm not encouraging destroying a ground, if you were going to destroy a ground that would be a good one to pick. Same story with my lot tonight though. Did very well against a better team on Friday night, lost to a s**t team tonight,

As far as I can tell there's been no solid news since that photo story in the Daily Mail in 2009.(And I do remember how that story set this forum all aflutter). Chances are that he'll be around for years to come.

Man About The House is currently being repeated on ITV3... To be replaced by Man about the Hearse? LOL.
-
That's actually one pick I would be very sad to see us get.
-
Probably a fair bet but I agree with Mousse: he does seem to have a very strong constitution.
-
But it has more to do with people who are already dead so there aren't many leads for us.
