I don't think it should be deleted. Merged though perhaps... I think it has become too much of a monster now to merge with Near Misses or Not exactly famous. It has developed an unholy existence all its own.

Wincey aint gonna die anytime soon, this thread is an inspiration to us all.

George Bush was prepared to let Tony into the White House, once he'd been housebroken.

Farewell

In other words 99.9% of the world's population. I think that is Blue Peter, which has run since 1958.

Squadron Leader Eric Foster a WWII prisoner of war who escaped no less than 7 times, has died aged 102. He claimed that parts of his story were the inspiration for Steve McQueen's character in "The Great Escape"

Tony wasn't yet able to turn his water into wine, but he drank it all the same.

I completely agree with you Godot, but the Moderators are a law unto themselves. A bit of consistency would make a pleasant change though.

Well I've never heard of him or his band Swell Maps, Billboard are also reporting his demise, so I guess it is official.

Erm..................... do you mean this thread?, It's not locked Youth, never has been. Is there possibly another thread you mean? It was most definitely locked earlier, someone is mucking about.

Now that would qualify as ironic if either bride or groom were meteorologists. No it wouldn't. It would qualify as irony if they had chosen that particular day because it was the least likely to provide rain, but the mere fact that they were meteorologists would have no bearing on the irony of the situation, which is, as it stands, nil. Why would a meteorologist choose to be wed on a rainy day? No one would choose a rainy day for their wedding, common bloody sense. Try actually reading and understanding my reply (emphasis added) before posting more drivel, Tempus. Surely it's obvious that a meteorologist would choose a day least likely to be rainy, why would they do otherwise? Or does the obvious elude your very limited IQ Star Crossed? In another thread TLC wrote: Worthy advice. And in the case of some people, reading the whole thread also provides them with a clue as to what everyone is talking about and thus prevents them from entering a post which is greeted with a communal 'huh?' Or is Tempus being ironic? You know, I'm getting lost in this irony jungle. I'm sorry but none of this has anything to do with Wincey Willis. Please try to stay on topic.

Then I hope you will still be merrily singing its praises should it go on to become as popular as the Dicky O' thread. Be careful what you wish for and all that... Oh yes indeedy, I love this thread, and would be bereft if it were to be deleted. In fact I love it so much that as long as it exists I'll keep it on the first page.

Wincey is still alive, I'm sure you'll all be relieved to hear. This vital thread really should be permanently kept on the first page, maybe even pinned.

Did you do all that yourself Capt? If so you must have the patience of a saint. A fabulous piece of work

Richard Fleischer directed a few good films, 10 Rillington Place is probably my favourite. He was also the son of animation pioneer Max Fleischer.

Things To Do While Waiting For Death... 2006
Tempus Fugit replied to honez's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I only got six recognition hits; Bobby Fischer, Kenneth Branagh, Ronaldo, Michael Keaton, Adam Ant and Patricia Arquette. -

"Who's nicked Tony's cake?"

Fatuous you say, then you won't object to a fatuous warning then?

Probably a good one for DDP, but not DL I would think. Though the "famous for being famous" debate rages on, I think it's safe to say that when someone is outright denied a Wikipedia page (it just redirects to Tiger Woods), then they probably fail to meet our standards. Then again, you are the mod. Don't let Wikipedia be your guide to famousness, lots of people who are famous don't have a page. Former ITN newscaster Sandy Gall hasn't got a page, but would be good enough for DeathList.

I agree that about 75% of those that are currently in the "Near Misses" thread rightly belong in the "Not exactly famous" thread. The near misses thread for 2005 had 1240 posts, this years near misses thread is heading for about 3500 posts come the end of the year. The bulk of those will belong in the Not exactly famous thread, this will of course make that thread extremely large but at least it will all be on topic. Now that VSBfromH's thread has been pinned, there really is no excuse not to use it. All that is really required is a bit of common sense in determining which thread to post an obit in. Google news search obit hits should act as a guide if you are unsure.

Might I ask then why you decided to bring it out into the fresh air instead of leaving it buried? I could ask you a similar question, Why did you feel the need to post in this thread just to ask me why I posted in the thread? The answer to your question is; In the service of sarcasm, also a vain hope that the thread might be locked or deleted.
