I disagree that the poem's naff, IMHO it's not bad at all compared to some of Mr Scream's previous ones. It certainly captures a lot more emotional angst and highlights the mental dichotomy of the embattled-writer-against-the-world attitude Mr Scream has hinted at in the past, but not fully articulated. Whether or not you agree with the unsavoury message contained within, it provides a fascinating commentary on self-justification: You who hate me and accuse me of arrogance only do so because you do not know me. Only I am entitled to judge people. I know you better than you know yourselves, so I counter-judge you and find that I hate you more. I am thereby completely justified in my hate. And so it goes. Anyone who accuses me of foolishness must be a fool. The cycle is complete. All that said, I still think the verse is a cut above previous efforts.

Okay the polling booths are now closed and the votes are in. The results pretty much speak for themselves. 4 out of 5 DL members don't like him, but he should be allowed to stay, if only by the skin of his teeth. Who says one vote doesn't make a difference? Without doing any Monoclinician statistical analysis, DL members think Banshee's Scream is... MOST: A creepy tosser who they'd avoid like the plague. He's a dick and a virgin, who's lost the plot, and his poetry is a joke. He is also a racist who is about as funny as a hole in the head. LEAST: A sexy genius who's good with poetry. He's a peaceful gem, a born leader who they look up to, a friend who they trust and look forward to PMs from. He's a winner, a lady's man and someone who always tells the truth. The results of what DL members think of Banshee's Scream are pretty clear, although I'm glad that, no matter how narrow the margin, he's welcome to voice his opinion about this, or anything else, on the DL fora.

In the interest of giving Deathlist regulars a feedback mechanism for our dearly beloved Banshees Scream, I have created a new set of polls where you can really tell him like it is. My intention behind this thread was not to be cruel or make fun of anyone. The result of LFN's "should BS be banned?" poll/thread was a fairly close result of NO. The reason behind this appeared to be DL members' general tolerance and commitment to free speech, regardless of the message content. I believe this is a very good thing. However, it appeared that BS was using this NO vote to attempt to take the moral high ground and laud himself over LFN -- and what appeared to be many other DL members. I created this thread to remove the confusion over whether free speech is tolerated here and to clarify, being as anonymous as they see fit, what DL members think of BS. The third poll is my attempt to give members an opportunity to vote either positively or negatively on many of the issues BS has been accused of and/or claims for himself. Obviously the poll questions will never be 100% scientifically accurate, but my intention was to clear up any misconceptions at the "big picture" level of what BS thinks of himself and what other DL members do. If there is a difference of opinion, then the big picture would highlight this. There is still a week or so left to run on the poll, but early indications are that most members are happy to let BS stay and say what he wants, but they don't necessarily agree with what he does say, he doesn't seem to be as popular, respected or have as much support as he previously thought. Like I said, this thread was never intended to be cruel or make fun of anyone. It was to clarify things and take a reality check on the situation. The poll isn't closed yet, so if you haven't voted, then have your say.

It's probably because it's dark. It might be best if you use a torch to find it. Let me know if that helps. To stop future torch-reliance, you might like to consider the composition of your clothing; friction from man-made fibres, tights, what the soles of your shoes are made of, whether the floor is carpeted (especially man-made fibres again) and (not that I'm suggesting this is the case here, LG,) thigh-rubbing and foot-shuffling when walking have a huge potential for static electricity build up and subsequent discharge. You may wish to test this out experimentally by spending a day at home naked, walking around on tip-toes with your legs wide apart. Be sure to let us know how you go.
