  1. Yes, I'm a bit bored today. Flicking through the channels on the TV, I came across the high chaparral. Ten of the main characters have been taken to Boot Hill.

    The remaining 5 are

Mark Slade who played Billy 'Blue' Cannon born May 1st 1939.

Henry Darrow who played Manolito Montoya born September 15th 1933

Linda Chrystal played Victoria Montoya Cannon born February 25th 1934

Don Collier played Sam Butler born 17th October 1928

Rudy Ramos played Wind born September 1950.

Nothing much more on their health, but we may see one or two of them join their colleagues by the end of next year.

  2. Nice to see that Sid and Marty Krofft (Banana Splits, HR Pufnstuf, various other druggy kids stuff) are still with us at 83 and 75 respectively.

Marty Krofft said, "No drugs involved. You can't do drugs when you're making shows. Maybe after, but not during. We're bizarre, that's all."

Got me thinking about all that weird 50s/60s foreign dubbed stuff like the Flashing Blade and the Singing Ringing Tree. Not relevant to the DL, of course. Just reminiscing, as old people tend to do.

You must be ages with me then? I loved the flashing blade.(Well, the theme song anyway)

  3. As his demise has not the customary write up. Hope our own esteemed Admin is ok in that case?

Also... bless him... but I think our own Prince Philip must be on my list for 2013. Looking awfully frail lately and has constant ill health.

Just to clarify, I believe the first paragraph is referring to DL hit #8, Tony Martin

Oops! My bad. I thought what with the chookyembra being mentioned in the post, I put it into his thread.

  4. It's quite tragic. They just don't glorify war with its death and destruction like they used to.

Tottenkopf - there is nothing glamorous about war. It's not a sport, it's not a laugh. Three of my cousins are in Afghanistan at the minute,

But your cousins weren't press-ganged into joining up. They joined up on their own free will, took the kings shilling, and will be on the front line to anywhere in the world the MOD deem necessary.

  5. I was saying to PB the other evening that the rumours surrounding "the death of Morgan Freeman" was doing the rounds. Well FaceBook is is still awash (500,000 hits) and still trending. So many people adding RIP messages completely unaware that they are living their sad life on the back of a mad idea of some rich kid called Mark Zuckerberg...

That one is still flying around farcebook facebook. My ex-wife 'liked' and left a message. I did let her know she had been hoaxed.

  6. I watched the game on BBC Alba. Looks like Rangers were playing like a 3rd (Maybe second division if I was being generous) team. If they want back into the SPL, they're going to have to up their game. However, I think they'll get promotion this season, the 3rd division as well as the 2nd division are a bastard to get out of when you've been relegated into them.

We (Clyde F.C.) managed to drop from division 1 to 3 in two seasons, it'll be a bastard getting promotion this season. How does the song go again?

Were shite, and we know we are, were shite and we ............. :(

  7. The Producer of the animated version of the Snowman John Coates had died.

Guess he's flying through the air now on his way to collect his harp.

    not flying.

I know, but he'd hardly be walking to heaven (I know, I know probably no such place,) so that's why I put in flying.
