She might outlive Nicholas Witchell given the state of him these days. Though I like the hedging his bets black tie just in case.

Interesting comment on the “in good spirits” line always used by Buckingham Palace. Doesn’t mean anything really - Prince Philip would have been described the same way even in his final days……

Without prematurely burying him: Maradona, Muller and Greaves gone in the last year, Cruyff, Eusebio, Best and Puskas already there: who's the best living player when Pele goes? Guess you could argue Beckenbauer maybe? But different skill set. Definitely feels like a generation is coming to an end.

    James Ward-Prowse?

Actor William Smith, perhaps most well known for his portrayal of Anthony Falconetti in the miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man, died at 88 years:

He is also notable for his role as James "Kimo" Carew in Hawaii Five-O, as well as for his work in The Virginian; The Asphalt Jungle; Laredo; and Zero One. He is also famous as television's last tobacco-advertising Marlboro Man.  His notable film credits include roles in Eye of the Tiger (1986), Red Dawn (1984), and The Mean Season (1985). In addition, he appeared in numerous horror movies of the 1980s, '90s, and early 2000s.

    Will Smith?

  4. Rather than a thread dedicated to Gunther - we should have a thread dedicated to Friends overall. There have been so many guests and recurring actors that I’m sure someone who likes to dedicate their time to lists could contribute one……

JMT could then be a part of that thread.
