Foreign Personalities, From Stage, Screen, Politics And Life
gcreptile replied to Davey Jones' Locker's topic in DeathList Forum
Meh. I fell for the dead cat bounce. -
Oh, it was really just a list for people under Cup consideration that grew larger and larger. Most of them are really minor names that would otherwise mess up my longlist. Tom Ridge is important enough to be on both lists.
-
Some gem from my Cup research, former CEO and billionaire Robert Brockmann, supposedly in home hospice for dementia: https://www.moneyweb.co.za/news/international/billionaire-robert-brockman-faces-february-2023-trial-in-record-tax-evasion-case/ Problem is, he's under investigation for being the biggest private tax cheater in US history. So it's difficult to tell how ill he really is.

The replacement window is over anyway. I guess I need to be a little clearer next time.
-
Replacing Andy Goram with scholar Mike Davis.
-
Alright, thank you all! I began the work on the main list yesterday already, and except for DDT, the new names should all be there now.

Time for R'n'P star and peedophile P Kelly to have his own thread. Currently in prison for having his own personal sex-slave ring, his lawyer is now pleading for compassionate release on health grounds: https://www.theguardian.com/music/2019/oct/01/r-kelly-ill-health-prison-release-appeal Anxiety, numbness, an untreated hernia. Also, he's in pain because he can only be visited by "one ladyfriend at a time". Plus, he must be pretty low in the hierarchy there I guess.

Political Discussions And Ranting Thread
gcreptile replied to Deathray's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Christopher Pincher probably losing his position as the conservative whip after allegedly groping two men. ...First of all... his name is Pincher? Heh... Also, apparently his second sexual misconduct scandal. Edit: -
Some combination of "respect for the elderly"/good elder people support system and media exaggeration I guess. We've had those cases before. Before your time here, there was Sri Sri Sri Shivakumara Swamiji. His survival was a wonder for years. Weakland's hospice might have been a cover story for the Vatican "protection service". He was involved in scandals, I forgot exactly what it was. I didn't really stay up to date on Satyanarayana.

You still have until the end of the day to submit your changes, either in this thread or as a pm. I will then change the masterlist this weekend. Please note that "submitted" means "submitted", no changes to already made substitutions please.

As posted on the main board, Vladimir Zelenko has (probably) died. Regular DDT pick in the cup, but not in this round. Now that would have been spectacular...
-
Yeah, that was what I refered to above. I found a link on twitter that announced his death but also linked to a video from April 1st (April Fools?). So I wasnt sure, but yes, it seems true.
-
Oh dear, do I have to write that whole email again? Edit: No, just took some time to show up.
-
Team submitted, thank you DDT for a good round, and good luck to my opponent!
-
deleted, maybe hoax.
-
Let me put it this way, your replacements can only score if they die between July 1st and December 31st.
-
Check your list, are you sure? (The rules don't really cover THAT issue)
-
Just a small curiosity while I wait with excitement how far DDT's rapid final lap is going to take him... ...El Noba would have received a QO through a mention in the Billboard print magazine, which for some reason has been posted here: https://www.billboard.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/june-24-2022-billboard-bulletin.pdf (page 25, right column, close to the end) The death of Terry Gardner gives our match the third-highest combined score in Cup history. I think we can both be pleased with the result.
-
Alright, as you have started posting and its now the 30th in Germany my two replacements are, unsurprisingly, Andy Goram and John Cannan for Khaleda Zia and Milos Zeman.
-
A grand New York Times obit for Betty Rowland. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/06/29/arts/betty-rowland-dead.html

It's basically a life sentence. Kind of interesting, to me, that he got more than Maxwell.

Scene Stealers: best bit-part scenes
gcreptile replied to Toast's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Ha, when I saw the thread title I immediately thought of Dean Stockwell, too. Followed by John Turturro, aka Jesus, in The Big Lebowski. Also, Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder.
