Uhh... Jean-Luc Godard.
-
Oh, I've had him in pretty much everything. DDP teams submitted on the 29th. Death By Numbers team finalised on Dec 15th, Deathrace joker submitted on the 30th. etc...
-
Very nice to hear. I think that work will be done roughly around Jan 20th - Feb 10th or something like that. It will roughly be half as much work as last time, as we had to do 2 years last time.

I get that six months, six hits pool score. Lots of us kept trying for that. And I won in a squeaker just before Bob Dole followed David Gulpilil.

Jazz "legend" Nick Colionne died this morning, a few weeks before he was to go on a "jazz cruise": https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/celebrities/17198127/nick-colionne-dead-jazz-new-years-day/

Interesting, seems Hulka emphasizes social media fame surprisingly much.
-
^^ lol, wow, you got Spiriman through? I guess Hulka just gave up at some point ;).
-
Heh, sorry, but I'm sure he'll be picked here and there. He's too much like a new Lars Hogh not to be. There's also the Scandinavian theme team.
-
Yeah, his appearance at Bob Dole's funeral made me lose a lot of interest in him.
-
@Gooseberry Crumble I do see some familiar names. Ugo Mifsud Bonnici, made me smile. Either I or Spade picked him in the Scavenger Hunt pool (there are two Bonnicis!). He seemed a plausible pick to me. I see a Home and Away actress. Well, it's the curse isn't it? Luke Halpin, Ron Ely, Pope Benedict, Duchess of Kent, solid picks, I'd say. Fred Talbot! Been on my longlist for ages. Phil Creswick, too. But I forgot about him. I think you picked some ripe berries, so to say. Divine Brown - ha! I'd be sad to see Liza go, but it's getting time. So yeah, I know more of your time than I did in previous years, without googling too much. Still many new and interesting names. And I think there'll be quite a few unique hits coming your way. On average maybe one more per team than last year?

Hm, well the french COVID Bogdanoff. We only know between the lines that he possibly has COVID. But how ill is he exactly? Is he on a ventilator or not? And COVID treatment is making progress, the probability of this death is lower than maybe some other cancer cases. Don West has brain lymphoma, not glioblastoma, but a different kind of brain cancer. Maybe it's just some spots that have returned, nothing serious? But now, I do think that the cancer must be surprisingly aggressive. Robert Durst is just very ill in the mind. I could believe he got COVID on purpose just to get out of jail. He's a twisted person. Edit: Oh sorry, my opinions on your team!!! takes a bit. Next post.

Hah, we do have some people there expecting her to just barely make her birthday. Those were good calls.

Depends on if Billy Turner falls under that "widely believed to be alive" rule.

Alright, where to start: Jake The Snake - couldn't get myself to pick him again. Seems somewhat on the upswing? That is, until the COVID news came. Steve Gleason / Rob Burrow / Ady Barkan: Seemed too slow for me. I got tired of picking Barkan. James Whale: Well, he's no Rush Limbaugh. Hard too see any decline at all. The cancer must not be too aggressive - kidney cancer that has spread? But probably undiscovered for long, so the growth not that big. Tom Parker / Tom Smith: I want a piece of more recent bad news before picking them again. I didn't want to pick defensively. Antonio Inoki: Dropped from B-team. Could still be dead tomorrow, or in 5 years? Tim Wilson (professor / politician / Circle guy): Was on my list for a while. But his Instagram seems positive. He looks better than those previous hospital pics. Cornelius Price: last piece of news was that he could be in a coma for years. So the "gravely ill" description is a bit misleading, potentially. Milos Zeman / Khaleda Zia: No, not going with them, no matter how many times they're hospitalised. Robert Durst: Too evil to be trusted. Mustafa Kayirici: Well, he's been doing the "I'm soon dead" thing for two years. Might be true eventually, but all in all, I didn't feel comfortable with the pick and the person. And the kind of marginal notability I mostly want to avoid.

Heh, nice one. He used to be Germany's Simon Cowell for 20 years, then got fired, probably for age reasons, last year. His most prominent health issue though, is his penis fracture that happened about 20 years ago. That said, he has bonafide star credentials and Modern Talking is HUGE in Eastern Europe.

Thank you for stepping up again.
-
Solid. Many picks with a ...uuhh.. healthy chance of dying. Some are gambles though, Bogdanoff, Durst, also Don West. ALS types take their time, but could also die tomorrow. Some of these things need to go your way. We will see if they do.

Monumental work, msc. And I think we can be quite proud of the result. Glad you didn't run away screaming after yesterday's whiteout.
