Big DDP hit though narrowly missing out on the Drop 40. Radguy extends his lead. For me, he was a bit too dicey for the main team at "only" 8 points. Could almost have been an 11-point miss though.

:nerd alert: He reminds me of Master Aemon Targaryen.

Yeah, maybe we get to see one of those old-school Stalinist purges in real time (and, luckily, from afar). There was also a rumour that it's not the sister, but the uncle who took over. He sort of felt pushed aside by Kim Jong-Il (?), the middle one. Was basically exiled as ambassador, but also very ambitious. I would find it funny, if we get a Caligula situation. Basically everyone gets killed except a lone male family member who is generally regarded as harmless and thoroughly uninterested in politics. So just like Emperor Claudius, we might get Kim Jong-Un's apolitical brother as the new leader.

Two weeks have passed and April came to an almost complete standstill with only two new hits: The late Johnny Harris QO for msc, and Howard Finkel for Cpt. Chorizo. Ed Genson and Rory GIlsenan seem destined for non-QO land. Genson couldn't even get the New York Times obit, and GIlsenan, in spite of being Irish, has not yet recieved a Times obit: Rank Team Points 1 Death Impends 509 2 gcreptile 472 3 Banana 467 4 Cpt. I looked under "K" under "Y" and under "U".

Kim Yong-Nam was picked twice in the DDP, Kim Yong-Un apparently not at all.
-
Well, Kim has to be at least very ill. After all, Trump called the CNN report untrustworthy.
-
A Japanese publication apparently says he's in a vegetative state. Edit: Now with a link: https://eurasiantimes.com/is-kim-jong-un-dead-reports-suggest-kim-could-be-in-vegetative-state/

What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Rina Sawayama - XS - from her self-titled debut album. This japanese queer artist gives a modern spin to those timeless classic artists like Britney Spears and Mariah Carey: -
Two young-ish (37) twin sisters die of the virus in the UK: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-hampshire-52409765 They both had the same underlying health issues (something colorectal), and they died within three days. (Yeah, I know not really notable, "Stranger that death", etc.... Fuck YOUU, I knew it and yet I posted it here!!1!)

Or maybe Kim Kyong-Hui, ill or dead for years.

(Leo Sayer's family and the man himself have a cancer history) :makes note in back of mind:

You're becoming Australian?

Can we bring eating Tide pods back? I heard it's very effective.

Book, you're too fast! He had suffered from a sepsis last year which took a heavy toll. (bit of a missed opportunity maybe) An old school catholic leftie in the centrist CDU party of Helmut Kohl. An ambivalent legacy because his belief in the role of the state was either deceivingly simplistic or morally admirable.

This week's picture of Ady Barkan, the progressive activist with ALS, possibly the most crucial living pick for my DDP team now: Could be worse.... could be better.

It looks like "very public with MND" person Doddie Weir now needs neck stabilization: https://www.scotsman.com/health/coronavirus/watch-rugby-legend-doddie-weirs-powerful-message-asking-government-include-mnd-patients-very-vulnerable-list-2533739

And now Jaci is in hospice care, will the Daily Mail remember her?: https://www.exploreokoboji.com/news/news-stories/spencer-woman-battling-rare-form-of-als-now-in-hospice-care/

Oh Deathray, let me count the ways...

"In Eternum's Wrinkly Dicks" apparently was the final submitted team before the new year. They didn't provide subs. I think I'll just adjust the celebrity info to mark the death.

Minimalists (and other classical composers/musicians)
gcreptile replied to harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy's topic in DeathList Forum
Composer and musical director Sir Peter Jonas is dead: https://www.spiegel.de/kultur/musik/peter-jonas-ist-tot-a-7cbe400b-ef00-4bd6-a54f-5d536a4df4d6 (german link) Especially prominent in Bavaria and Austria, but also the odd work in the UK, especially for the English National orchestra. Was my classical Theme Team joker in the DDP last year (sigh). Unique pick in the DDP this time (not mine). -
16th death of my 60 DDP people in 15 weeks. So I am still on the wipe-out rate. However, if Rory doesn't receive a QO, each of my three teams has one non-obit.

I think we're heading for a terrible year of drought. Almost no rain here in 3 weeks, or in the next two. 2020 has just begun, it's only going to get worse.

The Leonard Cohen phenomenon. WIth age, your voice range gets reduced to a single note.
