Nick Fish's cancer battle just got "more complicated": https://www.oregonlive.com/politics/2019/12/portland-commissioner-nick-fishs-cancer-has-become-more-complicated-hell-take-rest-of-december-off.html

He's getting divorced from his 4th wife, at age 88: https://www.tmz.com/2019/12/10/william-shatner-files-for-divorce-wife-18-years-elizabeth-prenup/

I'm still looking for my "bizarre pick of the year", maybe performance artist Hanna Cormick, who is "allergic to the world": https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2019/dec/11/hanna-cormick-the-performance-artist-whos-allergic-to-the-world "she is prone to not only hives, throat swelling and anaphylaxis but “very violent” seizures too." Maybe she's half-replicant...

Yeah, just yesterday he (?????) tweeted his best wishes after Lata Mangeshkar left hospital. Groan....

Congratulations! Well, one careless clap and the avalanche starts rolling...

It's remarkable how we are avoiding a decision in this pool. I had both Douthit and Volcker under consideration. Surely some of you also thought about it, or Pete Frates...

Now dead, Angie Douthit: https://www.inquisitr.com/5786083/mackenzie-mckee-mom-death/amp/ Edit: QO if needed: https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/10522698/teen-mom-mackenzie-mckees-mom-angie-douthit-dies-cancer/ -
Quite sad. I thought she had recovered for good as she did a little touring here and there.

No, I was just looking for anyone who might be on a "List of the missed"

I can't even find any person who would have qualified after Eliyah Cummings. Cricket Player Bob Willis comes closest, being born in 1949.

Ah, a new update, and so soon as well... let's get this day out of the way: Stuart Fraser, as I posted elsewhere, gives 61 points. The birth year wasn't entirely clear, so I am stuck between giving 61 and 62, through a lot of guessing (and Spade's research). So the 61 points are a (very small) punishment for the vague date of birth. Pete Frates was a very popular pick here, a little risky, but with many points. Kate Figes was picked by two people. Paul Volcker was a unique hit for me. The new scoreboard sees Joey back on the podium but otherwise the top is unchanged. Rank Team name Points 1 Death Impends 1562 2 Clorox Bleachman 1548 3 Joey Russ 1361 4 GCReptile 1340 5 Phantom of the Midway 1333 6 Banana 1316 7 Grim Up North 1314 8 Cpt Chorizo 1300 9 drol 1251 10 Devon Death Trip 1208 11 Skinny Kiltrunner 1088 12 msc 1026 13 Sir Creep 911 14 Book 899 15 John Key 751 16 The Unknown Man 697 17 Grave Danger 655 18 The Quim Reaper 640 19 Fixed Business 629 20 Prophet 623 21 YoungWillz 581 22 theoldlady 469 23 Yorkshire Banker 450 24 The mad hatter 444 25 Pedro 67 398 26 The old crem 373 27 Deathray 353 28 Bibliogryphon 299 29 markb4 293 30 Gooseberry Crumble 279

So, How’s Your 2020 Shortlist Looking?

Seems like Nell will not join the circus. -
The rare deductive find. I read an article on him and thought he looked really bad. And only when I actively looked for health news on him, did the relevant info appear. And even then, I thought that because of gallbladder surgery, he suffered from gallbladder cancer, but in the end, it was prostate cancer.

Wow, I had just pencilled her in after a pretty downbeat Daily mail article on her last week.

It really depends on the source, it seems, like this (possibly the most esteemed Bangladeshi paper?) one has him dying p.m.: https://www.dhakatribune.com/bangladesh/dhaka/2019/12/09/professor-ajoy-roy-passes-away-at-84 They all seem to share the same source though..."breathed his last". Edit: I do think though that Roy died p.m., because some sources don't give an exact time and just say "afternoon", like this one: https://en.prothomalo.com/bangladesh/news/206185/Ajoy-Roy-passes-away I could imagine an a.m / p.m mix-up, but not an afternoon / night confusion.

Former US central bank (FED) chair Paul Volcker has died at 92: https://www.cnbc.com/2019/12/09/paul-volcker-the-carter-reagan-fed-chairman-who-beat-inflation-dies-at-92.html DDP unique for me..... on what is one of my best deadpooling days ever.
-
God, you're really annoying me lately. First of all, there is no litmus test. Secondly, did I hear you complaining about 2018 winner "local weatherman" Chris Bradley, or MMMDP winner 2017 "mum of singer" Irene Jones, or Spade's inaugural winner "Janitor of the year"? No...

My pick Ajoy Roy is dead, but will a QO come? (I'm leaning towards yes, but it's the NYT or something like that) http://www.newagebd.net/article/93129/professor-ajoy-roy-no-more
-
Thanks guys! Ajoy "Boy toy" Roy is a VERY close second, congrats drol: http://www.newagebd.net/article/93129/professor-ajoy-roy-no-more

Yeah, what you said about keeping alive at all costs, quality of life, etc.... In many ways, Ajoy Roy is just as dead as Kiefer.

Regardless of how this will end, I am probably not going to join next year. I do have to cut my involvement somewhere to make up for the DDP duties. I thought both formats had their charm though and I thank Wormfarmer for all the work!

Aww, sad. I always liked Odo. But then I guess, that was the point of his character, the Spock/Data for DS9.
