I've been watching Quentin Tarantino's favourite B-movies lately. Their director Jack Hill, born 1933, is still alive: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Hill He was mentioned in the Happy Birthday thread before.

Fallout and Elder Scrolls content creator Mitten Squad has died at 27: https://www.pcgamesn.com/mitten-squad-dead He dealt with health problems and alcohol use. I finished Skyrim last week and survived. I have now moved on to Starfield.

Lots of celebrities are probably jumping on the Ozempic train right now. It seems to actually work well.

So, How's Your 2024 Shortlist Looking?

It was a difficult year, in my opinion. Things were less "plan-able" than usual. Good luck on the job! Death will still be around for a while, probably, should you jump back in. -
My own team has now been posted in XXXXXX form. I have a feeling that it was too early to submit, as there will be 3-4 names still dropping, but what can you do.... Names will be revealed on January 1st. Good luck to all!

Well, pool queen Jeanette Lee is in no rush to die, so why not try the Iceman Mika Immonen with stage 4 cancer: https://www.onesports.ph/more-sports/article/17850/pool-legend-mika-immonen-takes-time-off-to-fight-greatest-match-of-life-vows-to-be-back-soonest

It's the Arab system, and could be seen in Saudi-Arabia, too. But now they've run out of sons of Saud, so we have crown prince bonesaw.

Future DeathList entrant Larry David retires "Curb Your Enthusiasm" after 24 years: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-67723937 It doesn't seem to be health-related, but then, he is 76, so the end had to come eventually.

Suresh Patel, prominent Northampton councillor, resigns because of serious health issues: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-northamptonshire-67715325 Such a good pick, I wouldn't bother anymore with looking for somebody else in the "local politician" department. That slot is filled!

Yeah, it's not everybody, It's always the same 3-4 people. They are free to block you, as you are free to post.

Sorry for posting a german link, but in his case, it's not true. He's currently planning to have his ceremony reduced. The article links to a mexican interview about that. He'd also be the first Pope in over a hundred years to not be buried there.

Francis wants to be buried outside the Vatican: https://www.spiegel.de/panorama/papst-franziskus-will-ausserhalb-der-vatikanmauern-bestattet-werden-a-1ccbfc01-dcc2-4e90-9ef0-e46a41526bb8 Getting to the end? Still, he has three trips planned for 2024. The third one to Argentina sounds very much like a farewell visit to me. I think he's "planning" to depart in 2025. Guess we'll see how that goes.

Opera "legend", Matthew Epstein, in a coma after a failed suicide attempt: https://slippedisc.com/2023/12/opera-legend-in-failed-suicide-attempt/ He said he wanted to die at 75, but a hotel clerk ruined this goal, for now. Epstein does not have a wikipedia page though, so probably pretty marginal outside of the opera world. -

Emanuel Macron gives Daniel Barenboim and Martha Argerich an award: https://slippedisc.com/2023/12/ailing-barenboim-radiant-argerich-are-decorated-by-president-macron/ Barenboim looks appropriately disoriented. -
His birth name, according to Wikipedia, is Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_Archie_of_Sussex So he exists as much, or even more than "Jimmy" James Earl Carter. I'm not British, I think I'm allowed to not name him by his titles.

Jimmy Carter vs. Archie Mountbatten-Windsor. Jimmy's greatest challenge?
