Strange how the hits have dried up after just a few days. I've been expecting news on Casey "Mighty Casey" Quinlan from April 1st on, but she just keeps on hanging on. https://www.caringbridge.org/public/caseyquinlan I've never received 20 points in a Cup round, and now I am one Jimmy Carter and/or Mighty Casey away from that.

I just found out that Tim Keller has a regular YouTube series. Most recent update only hours ago, he seems fine:

There was a tabloid interview with him, no, not him personally, but an AI-generated "exclusive" interview. The family is suing the magazine: https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2023/apr/20/schumacher-family-planning-legal-action-over-ai-interview-with-f1-great

Yes, I was unsure which year they meant, but I assumed that they refered to the initial news. Could be wrong, but it's probably not that much of a difference.
-
Now at 5 notable deaths, but April 16th has the potential to be the most deathless day in a decade or so.

Only last week did I realize that I actually picked Chris Snow twice. But well, it's just 24 players for me then.
-
Sketchy "later life" section in his Wikipedia article. He's a desperate person doing desperate things.

Stanley Crouch was the Jazz critic. There was also Albert Raboteau, another Cup favorite of mine, roughly 7-and-a-half months in hospice care. I seem to recall a priest... Rembert Weakland maybe? Though he lasted "only" 5 months in home hospice care.

Thanks to the final stretch of the Windy City pool, here's a Gordon McQueen update: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11911157/Hayley-McQueen-speaks-father-Gordons-dementia-battle-deserted-PFA.html When they announced his dementia with the "cannot eat" bit late 2021, he was actually receiving home hospice care, but he somehow got better and is back to eating solid food again. Still bedridden most of the time.

I usually fail at this, so 4th place is a nice result. Chris Stone dying in the final week is probably the most realistic chance of winning. The others aren't differentials and not enough/require a very unlikely combination of circumstances.

Oh, I LOVE it. Well, to be fair (to myself), I also currently have the most hits. Though I suspect, that virtually that's not true anymore.

Yesterday is still only at 4 notable deaths. I suspect that a bigger death has already happened which has yet to be announced.

Ahem, my PC broke down. So the next update might have to wait for a bit, let's see... the DDP files should be safe, I think it's either the video card or the motherboard.

It's a bit like one of the these scam machines... google tells me, the name is coin pusher... you just put in one coin after another, and the pile keeps on growing ever so slightly. Lots of build up, lots of time with nothing going on, but when it does, it'll be an avalanche.
-
He'll get something that counts here. Maybe only at the BBC year-end list, but it will come. Obits that count here are everything that counts for the DDP + New York Times.

Christy Dignam's final interview: https://www.rte.ie/entertainment/2023/0416/1377144-christy-dignam-opens-up-in-his-final-ever-interview/ Looks very weak, but I guess he can still stand.
