I've wondered why, with all the categories, we don't have one called Suicides, where we put them all. I particularly like the jumpers and may damn well start up a jumper thread next participant.

I thought about that as well, but for some reason, it was too morbid for me. I think that would be too much misery in one place.

Fear not, we already have a thread for the suicidal:

Oh dear, it makes me want to create a thread about wonderful recovery stories.

  2. Nguyen Thi Tru, a vietnamese woman who claims to be 122 years old, is she a new contender?

Possibly not, unless she was able to give birth at age 50...

...but if she is, she wins a million dollars:

Edit: Awesome guest, I'd really like to like your post...

  3. Former head of Syrian military intelligence Rustom Gazaleh has died:

He was a mjaor figure of the Syrian occupation of Lebanon and possibly responsible for the assassination of lebanese Prime Minister Hariri. Then he became chief of the Syrian "political security branch". There might have been a split with Assad though on the course on the Civil War in Syria.

  5. Computer scientist Valery Spinidonov, aged 30, has volunteered to be the subject of the world's first head transplant operation. I'll leave it for others to judge his chances of success.

His life-limiting diagnosis of spinal muscular atrophy is the reason he has chosen risk such pioneering surgery.

    Here's a video about him:

I can understand the desire. Though they say that the operation is meant to take place within the next 2 years, and it doesn't sound as if Mr. Spiridonov will live that long.

Mikki Nicholson, UK and European Scrabble champion kills herself by jumping in front of a train after being taunted at for her transsexuality:

    She sounds trainsgender.

I know some people like trains almost to a sexual degree, but to identify as a train is new to me...

On the other hand, of course, I had to check what the difference between transgender and transsexuality is, and transgender (?) theorists say there is "no meaningful difference":

JOHANNESBURG – Former Bafana Bafana midfielder John ‘Shoes’ Moshoeu has died at the age of 49 after a long battle with cancer.

His agent, Glyn Binkin confirmed the former Kaizer Chiefs star passed away this afternoon.

Already posted, though not yet commented on.

Perhaps cos it was in wrong thread..... He never played at the WC...

Yeah, though using the search function led me to DDT's original mention of this case in that thread.
