I'm totally with msc and Bibliogryphon! The last 4 years will be very very hard for me to vote down. No Slade in there, you know

Luckily the female voices are much more represented in the second half of the 70's: Tammy Wynette, ABBA, Tina Charles, (Brotherhood of Man), Kiki Dee, Pussycat, Julie Covington, (Manhattan Transfer), Deniece Williams, Donna Summer, Baccara, Althea & Donna, Kate Bush, Boney M., Olivia Newton-John, Blondie, Gloria Gaynor, Anita Ward, (Buggles), Lena Martell and the Bee Gees.

For 1979 I got Dane Bowers (*28.11.1979) from Another Level. They hit No. 1 in 1998 with "Freak me". And for 1973 it's Peter Andre (*27.02.1973), 1996 No.1 with "Flava". -

For 1974 it's Robbie Williams. He was 19 when he hit No.1 with Take That in 1993 for the first time. For 1975 it's Lauryn Hill, I think. She was 21 when she hit No. 1 in 1996 with the Fugees. And for 1976 Emma Bunton (Spice Girls), who hit No. 1, also in 1996, aged 20. -

No, not necessarily prefer, but even I only have 6 points to subtract. These go to songs (and certainly artists) that I personally don't like - just like everyone here gives their points for exactly that reason. Yes, the Peters & Lee song is awful, but it's not the only awful song in the competition. And eventually people even liked the song, it ended up being #1 (if only for a week, but still). It'll surely get killed quick, just like the awful Osmond songs.
-
72/73 were really not good music years. And again I think "Oh, if I had started with the 80s, so many good #1 songs... Feels like I'm in love, There's no one quite like grandma, Ebony and Ivory, Save your love ..." But anyway, here we are a decade earlier: 26 Alice Cooper – School's Out 24 10CC – Rubber Bullets 24 The Sweet – Blockbuster 24 Lieutenant Pigeon – Mouldy old dough 24 David Cassidy – How can I be sure 22 Don McLean – Vincent +2 22 Nilsson – Without you +2 22 Chuck Berry – My ding-a-ling 20 The New Seekers – I'd like to teach the world to sing 20 T.Rex – Telegram Sam 20 Chicory Tip – Son of my father 20 T.Rex – Metal Guru 20 Slade – Take me back 'ome 20 Donny Osmond – Puppy love 20 Rod Stewart – You wear it well 20 Gilbert O´Sullivan – Clair 20 Chuck Berry – My ding-a-ling 20 Slade – Cum on feel the noize 20 Donny Osmond – The twelfth of never 20 Gilbert O´Sullivan – Get down 20 Wizzard – See my baby jive 20 Suzi Quatro – Can the can 20 Slade – Skweeze me, pleeze me 20 Peters & Lee – Welcome home 20 Donny Osmond – Young love 20 Wizzard – Angel Fingers 20 Simon Park Orchestra – Eye Level 20 David Cassidy – Daydreamer/ The Puppy Song 20 Gary Glitter – I love you love me love 20 Slade – Merry X-mas everybody 14 Little Jimmy Osmond – Long haired lover from Liverpool 14 Royal Scots Dragoon Squad – Amazing Grace 14 Slade – Mama, weer all crazee now -6 10 Gary Glitter – I'm the leader of the gang (I am) 6 Dawn ft. Ok, I think the direction is clear, so let's go: 1972 - 1973 20 The New Seekers – I'd like to teach the world to sing 20 T.Rex – Telegram Sam 20 Chicory Tip – Son of my father 20 Nilsson – Without you 20 Royal Scots Dragoon Squad – Amazing Grace 20 T.Rex – Metal Guru 20 Don McLean – Vincent 20 Slade – Take me back 'ome 20 Donny Osmond – Puppy love 20 Alice Cooper – School's out 20 Rod Stewart – You wear it well 20 Slade – Mama, weer all crazee now 20 David Cassidy – How can I be sure 20 Lieutenant Pigeon – Mouldy old dough 20 Gilbert O´Sullivan – Clair 20 Chuck Berry – My ding-a-ling 20 Little Jimmy Osmond – Long haired lover from Liverpool 20 The Sweet – Blockbuster 20 Slade – Cum on feel the noize 20 Donny Osmond – The twelfth of never 20 Gilbert O´Sullivan – Get down 20 Dawn ft. So, without thinking twice, I assumed that the round would play until there was only one song left. But I also understand if it doesn't seem particularly sensible to some here and it wasn't really formulated precisely by me. But I am open and flexible and suggest two ideas: Possibility 1: We have our top 4, we finish this round and open the next round. Possibility 2: The winners (top 3) of each general round get bonus points. Normally they would also go into the Grand Finale with 20 points, but the winning song gets 3 bonus points, second place gets 2 points and third place gets 1 point: 1st place of each round: 23 points 2nd place: 22 points 3rd place: 21 points 4th/5th/6th Place: 20 points Do you have any opinions? What do you prefer?
-
No, we need a proper Top 4. It will be played to the bitter end
-
That's what I think ten times a day in here!!! The result could be so good!

43 Smokey Robinson & The Miracles – Tears of a Clown 38 T. Rex – Get It On +4 36 Simon & Garfunkel – Bridge over troubled water 28 Slade - Coz I luv you -6 3 Jimi Hendrix Experience - Voodoo Chile

Right: *Rolf Harris, the No.1 from 1969 to 1970, was added, so that's 28 No.1 hits, but it's still only 4 songs that make it into the Grand Finale.
