Just had a brief look at the previous years' lists. In 2007 they had to wait until early July for a third hit! Jesus. (That's not including some of the early years where there were less than 50 names, btw). That's the worst I could find, I'm sure if there's a more extreme example someone will correct me. Let's hope we don't have to wait that long. Although on the other side of that, there were then 4 more subsequent hits in July. Maybe that's some kind of omen. Like I said before, I think there will be a big summer... "sale".

Yeah actually it does, dipshit, because the whole point of world's oldest people is that we all go "wow" at the number of years that they've lived. You wouldn't see a 110 year old person trying to get media attention for being really old but saying to the media people "Er, it doesn't matter how old I am actually." Prick!
-
Thanks for helpfully mentioning how old they were to save us time clicking it. Good thinking.

But was it an accident............? *sinister background music*

One of my big pet hates is users who only show up every once in a while to complain about something off the telly then don't even stick around to discuss it with other users/expand on their comments....

According to this post, CaptainChorizo has been battling dyslexia. -
Is Al Sharpton staging a protest?
-
You must have been watching on Eurosport then 'cause BBC cut away from it and showed shots of concerned onlookers in the pit-lane because of the amount of blood (not that I personally remember, didn't watch F1 at the time). I think Murray Walker thought he was dead too by the way his voice dropped on the video... I know this is Deathlist but it's still quite offensive to the squeamish so if you want to know the gory details, I've put this in spoiler tags. So yeah there was no chance and they pretty much only flew him away cause they didn't want someone to officially die at the racetrack I guess.
-
And he was basically dead before the car even came to a rest after surfing across the gravel, so don't be fooled by the bollocks where they tried to resuscitate him and flew him off to hospital!

How philosophical and stuff.

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford (well, nominal mayor after he had most of his powers stripped from him last year), has been caught on video smoking crack again. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/toronto/rob-ford-takes-leave-as-new-drug-video-emerges/article18354671/

Oh yeah whoops, I didn't quite read that right. I guess, erm... a donor will provide a new pancreas?
-
Umm. I guess he can keep the parts of his pancreas that isn't cancerified and stuff. If this is true it's a real kick in the teeth for the DL committee. *stifles laughter*

No I can't. Because it isn't 20 years yet. He died on the 1 May in Italy and it's still April 30th here in Western/Central Europe. So there!

Since the guest's post in the other thread which mentioned this was deleted.... Paxman stepping down from Newsnight. http://www.theguardi...t-newsnight-bbc I might enter him in a DDP theme team I'm planning next year which will contain really overrated people. And I will probably call it "Really Overrated People".
-
Hahaha.......... epic plot twist!
-
Well don't complain at me.... I can't move the posts to the appropriate thread can I?
-
Is this really a surprise? For years now he's looked like he'd rather be anywhere except presenting that shit program.

Haha. Don't be fuckin' dense. He's a squillionaire for fuck's sake. He will probably (continue to?) find comfort in high class hookers and champagne. -
I know what O-Levels are. Every single one of my teachers ever used the "We used to do O-levels in my day, y'know!" line in an attempt to sound like a wisened old character who's seen it all and remembers the day JFK died like it was yesterday. Incidentally, the way Gove's going people like me will be having to explain to the kiddos what GCSEs were aren't we.

And naught of value was lost!

Bugger. You shit. I was gonna post old Adolf. Knew I'd been beaten to it as soon as I saw the thread was bumped. Oh well. Staying with the theme of dead Austrians, F1 driver Roland Ratzenberger was killed in 1994 while driving for the lowly Simtek team on qualifying day at the so-called "San Marino Grand Prix" (actually held in Italy). He was killed instantly when he crashed into a wall at pretty much maximum speed, after his car wouldn't turn (it had suffered damage on a previous lap). He was the first driver to actually die at a proper F1 event in over a decade and it shocked the world of F1 but not nearly as much as what happened on race day, Sunday May 1.

Oh and here's a picture of Ariel Sharon during the 1967 Six-Day-War. He was a general by that time. Surely that's not too far off the 1937 winner "War Admiral"? Or if you don't like that you could have "War Emblem" the 2002 winner, since he has that thingy on his shoulders that shows his rank? Edit: Also I just spotted the 1970 winner "Dust Commander", and obviously the war took place in very dusty landscape. Thought I'd better name that one before someone else tries to nick it.....

Not to be outdone, here's a picture of Tony Benn with UK faux-working-class leftie loudmouth Owen Jones Er, hopefully that's not too vague an association with the 2004 runner-up Smarty Jones?

Haha. I still want to play....... even though I have only 12 points to play with (as of today anyway). Might be a bit useful if you tell us when it starts UK time. And if you'd mentioned the fact that it's on Sunday.
