Isn't it odd how Tony Benn always seemed a fairly sanguine, chilled out kind of guy, and now he is dead at 88, but Ian Paisley, who is almost as old as Benn, has spent his whole life angrily bellowing the only two words he knows, "betrayal" and "surrender", and he is still alive? Life is weird like that sometimes.

Eh....... I hate to say but it's probably something that they think sounds terribly exciting but to everybody else it means absolutely fuck all. Like "we've found a new kind of star! Instead of being photon-nucleic, it's nuclon-photeic!!!" or some bollocks like that. I really hope that it is aliens - really fucking advanced aliens - if they can fly here in saucers they've probably also reached the stage of science where they've got those robotic concubines I was talking about earlier in the other thread, and they might be willing to share! Also even if they haven't it would still be hilarious to see scientists announce alien life on a day when half of America is drunk off their asses (St. Patrick's day). It would be appropriate because that's how most alien "sightings" take place!

Hahah. Yes, EGN, I was just about to post something similar. I've had a quick think about it, and the answer is pretty much yes - assuming the world survives past the current era/Russia crisis without us all being covered in plutonium/whatever else, that is. Or, I want to live as long as possible until I get sick of it or the world gets too fucked up. And if/when technology advances to the point where all maintenance work and sustenance is taken care of by magical self-sustaining robots, and we all get our hands on some super high-tech, artificially-genetically-engineered, but still-nice-and-squidgy robot concubines that are basically 99.9999999999999% indistinguishable from the real thing, I'm gonna guess there will be substantially less wars in that future world...

We once had a guy who used that term to describe a customer in an e-mail. Unfortunately they replied to the attachment e-mail not to the covering e-mail and it went out to the customer in question. He then turned up late to his own disciplinary hearing. I bumped into him a couple of years later when he had got a reasonably well paid job play testing computer games. His name has now become a by-word for any e-mail related faux-pas in our organisation. His name's not Cunt is it? That would be a very ironic way for one of you guys to get fired too.
