The curse of the Power Station strikes again...
-
Brucie's Price Is Right (for it was named such) was filmed at Yorkshire Television around the time I worked there. Sadly I never had the chance to offer him a Mint Imperial and a chance to hide behind the giftshop curtain. In fact I never saw him at all, not even in the corridor
-
Barry Cryer. He's the Paul Gambaccini of entertainment. RIP Brucie. Though I preferred Larry Grayson on the Generation Game, he was a great entertainer and we won't see the like of him again. Typically and completely predictably, this is probably my favourite Brucie telly moment...

TMZ reporting he's died. http://www.tmz.com/2017/08/08/glen-campbell-dead/

I've definitely been keeping an eye on him for years. Surprised he made it as long as he did. Sad news though. I was never overly fond of Shelley as a kid but I suspect I'd appreciate it more now.

Shane MacGowan at U2 Croke Park gig aftershow (ho ho, "Croke". It's a bit like 'croak'... ) Still in a wheelchair I see. Back on the pop (hey! another U2 reference crowbarred in - gosh, I'm on form tonight) apparently too.

Who's Going To Be Around For A While?
Vinegar Tits replied to Banshees Scream's topic in DeathList Forum
Not sure about that. There's many many claims that he seems to have early stage dementia, plus all that caffeine he sups every day can't be doing him much good either (out of interest, has it been said how much Diet Coke he drinks a day?) -
Terribly sad news. He was a legend for anyone of a certain age, and such a huge part of childhood for many of us. They don't 'em like that any more
-
Shouting and swearing at seagulls a lot does that to a man. As long as it's just weight loss from a diet and nothing else he looks fine. We're just not used to seeing him without a bit of weight on him. Not sure if him and Shane are still moored up where they usually are but, if so, as I'll be in the area later this week/early week I'll have a nosey and see if I can find anything out. Though if he is on a diet Tim probably won't be wanting any chips from the fab chippy just to the side of the harbour this time.

Betty Driver Memorial Soapstar Superstar Thread
Vinegar Tits replied to M Busby Airlines's topic in DeathList Forum
Aww, that's sad news. She was extremely likeable in The Young Doctors - quite possibly the most sympathetic Oz soap character other than Saint Meg of Wentworth. I don't know if it's on YouTube but when YTV and Tyne Tees joined up and started showing TYD in sync with each other (YTV was years behind) a catch-up five minutes covering the 215 episodes skipped by YTV was shown which was hilarious, and Helen Gordon featured heavily in it - full of dismissing massive and character life changing storylines in one sentence. -
She's always been an optimistic person so her (public) reaction is going to be thus. Plus she's been a bit new agey for a while - definitely since her original cancer bout - so her comment about also using complimentary natural therapies isn't surprising either. They didn't do her any harm last time; indeed, she suffered the side effects of cancer treatment a lot less than many. Of course, she probably just got lucky but there's no harm in natural remedies *as well as* the usual treatment. Given this news, and the fact it took her 35 years to play the UK, I'm *so* glad I got the chance to see her live in Brighton back in 2013. Second row seats and she was amazing *AND* she sang Long Live Love, which I'll admit to having a tear in my eye at. She's wonderful and I wish her all the best.

No shit

Really sad news. I love Livvy, she's done a lot for cancer charity and awareness in Australia (my sister did a bit of The Great Wall Of China sponsored walk thingy) and she's always seemed like a really lovely person. I hope she pulls through, but will definitely be keeping an eye on news about her. She's somebody who I'd *really* prefer not to have to put in my deadpool.

James Bond 007 (Connery/Moore/Villains etc)
Vinegar Tits replied to Typhoid Harry's topic in DeathList Forum
Bloody hell. I'm a bit surprised at this. I know he was 89 but always seemed well, if increasingly frail. He's my Bond. RIP 007 -
Sciatica isn't a death sentence unless you go silly with the pain meds. To paraphrase her Eurovision song - Long Live Livvy! (Yes, I'm a fan - saw her live in Brighton in 2013. She was great).

dead Prince Philip Duke Of Edinburgh

Typical something big may have happened today when I was in London *yesterday*. I could have had a nosey outside Buckingham Palace (plus it's a Pokestop so that's handy as well). I've been up all night too so don't want to fall asleep and miss all the excitement. If it's not Brenda or Phil The Greek, I wonder what's happened? I'm thinking one of the corgis has rabies and savagely bit Theresa May yesterday. It would be sad news about the corgi obviously... -
Not that I think his death will be in any way funny, but it'd be amusing if his death was announced just before the polls opened for the second round of the election on 7 May.

World's oldest wombat Patrick dies aged 31 Sad news My sister met him at his last birthday party. He was very cute and sweet apparently.

There's only David Johansen and Sylvain Sylvain left from the New York Dolls, Anyway, back to Eric Clapton. He doesn't look that bad, though seems rather thin. If he was smiling in the pictures and not looking like a right miserable bugger he'd probably look fine. His lack of a chin doesn't help either - he's one of the very few people who I think looks better with facial hair.

And music. Former boyfriend of the wonderful Raffaella Carrà and wrote a lot of her hits. including Tuca Tuca, Felicità Ta Ta and Tanti Auguri. -
True but I'd argue he's from the classic T.Rex line-up.

Are you referencing the Popbitch blind item by any chance? I thought either Gazza or Michael Barrymore.

I also thought she'd died about 10 years ago.
