If you get the chance, asked Jean-Jacques Burnel if he ever danced naked round that totem pole in Wibsey when he was a student. He'll know what I'm talking about.

Not sure if this link will work as it's from Facebook, but Daevid Allen of Gong has been given six months to live https://www.facebook.com/jack.smiley/posts/10153141189809047?fref=nf -
Ted Robbins has collapsed on stage during Phoenix Nights live show at Manchester MEN Arena. Show has been cancelled. No news as to whether it's a heart attack or the full Tommy Cooper just yet

Samir was dreadful, I quite agreed, but the initial storyline and his death were great -

While I agree that playing the same character forever doesn't show a wide acting range, being purely pragmatic it makes sense to stay in a regular well-paid job that you enjoy doing for as long as possible for security reasons.Anyway, Deirdre was involved in most of the best Corrie storylines I can remember - Rovers lorry crash where Tracey was missing, Ken/Mike affair, the whole Samir thing, and going to prison. She'll be missed. -
Bugger. I knew Kim Fowley had been ill a number of years ago but he'd kind of slipping from my radar. Damn damn and damn.

It's my constituency she's standing in, which is a Conservative/Labour swing seat. There'd be no by-election as the Lib Dems won't get a look in.
-
She's currently doing fine. She's well enough to tweet (and occasionally watch/tweet along with the BBC4 TOTP repeats as she was quite the Buzzcocks fan in her time!). Not sure when she's having her surgery but we'll see how she is after that and on the GE campaign trail. She's a nice lady and I wish her all the best, though I won't be voting for her in May. She'll get a local obit for definite but I'm not sure about a qualifying one.

Fiona Cumming, who directed Castrovalva, Snakedance, Enlightenment and Planet Of Fire, died of cancer on New Year's Day.

I'm annoyed with myself that I forgot Jules Bianchi and Sheila Sim. People discussed who didn't make the cut for 2015: Billy Graham,Christopher Lee, Richie Benaud. No doubt they'll drop dead within the week.

What Do You Think Of The 2015 Death List?
Vinegar Tits replied to Davey Jones' Locker's topic in DeathList Forum
Looks pretty solid, but then again so did 2014's list this time last year. We'll see. Surprised Mary Tyler Moore isn't on it. -
Peter Falk has Alzheimer's...

For some reason I can't find the main football thread, but former Leeds United chairman Leslie Silver has died Confirmed by the club on Twitter. Of course,we slagged him off at time time but rather him than the chancers, charlatans and crooks we've had since.

Ooh,I see what you mean. Looks rather skeletal, though seems to have slightly more hair than last time I saw him. I'm British (though live closer to Calais than I do Ashford, never mind London!) but used to be able to get German TV on satellite and was an avid Lindenstrasse viewer. Uecker also used to appear on German Eurovision programmes a fair bit too.
-
And here's the BBC obit. Sad news as he was so active; he only released an album recently and was touring. I thought he was one of those people that would go on forever. Probably Austria's biggest musical loss since Falco. Book - why is Georg Uecker on your list? He isn't ill, is he? Sadly I'm a bit out of the loop of Lindenstrasse gossip.

She's touring next year, so her health can't be too bad. As is Charles Aznavour, though it is supposed to be a farewell tour. We'll see. And Johnny Hallyday's just released a new album and is touring in 2015 too so must be back to reasonable health. A bit obscure, but I was surprised to learn Anne Vernon, who played Catherine Deneuve's mother in The Umbrellas Of Cherbourg (one of the few times when Deneuve's maman was played by someone other than Danielle Darrieux), is still alive. Born 1924. IMDB doesn't seem to list anything after 1972. I reckon she'd probably get an obit purely for ...Cherbourg.

Dead - most reports saying it was a stroke.

Ian McLagan in critical condition in hospital. Head injury apparently.

I was once professionally employed to write entries for a rock reference book and her birthdate - as in the year of her birth - proved somewhat elusive. One school of thought suggests she's two years older than she says. I could swear sometime in the Eighties she was older than Grace Slick and born in either 1936 or 1937. Unfortunately I can't find any evidence of this but I must have got the belief from somewhere. She's great whatever her age. I wish she'd tour again.

Thighs of steel, that man. I saw his wonder goals. Just magnificent.
