For those of you that have been looking at Venus in the morning sky, she's going to be joined by Jupiter over the next 10 days. Jupiter will not be as bright as Venus but it is still very bright. The video runs from the 14th to the 23rd and is the view from the northern hemisphere. From the southern hemisphere Jupiter will approach from the right.

I met her once during the early 80s. She was a friend of one of the owners of the nightclub where I worked and she did one night behind the bar. At the end of the night as all the staff gathered for a drink, she sat on a low barstool, adopted a posture which would now be called manspreading and proclaimed "I'm fucking knackered". I didn't see it but I did know about it. It was Venus and it will be very similar tomorrow morning. They'll get so 'close' on 31st July this year that Venus will disappear behind the moon. It'll be 'visible' across much of North America but the downside is it happens in the afternoon when the sun's up.
