Alan Oppenheimer

Recommended Posts

Legendary voice actor Alan Oppenheimer of He-Man (Skeletor), The NeverEnding Story (Falkor), Flash Gordon (Ming the Merciless), The Six Million Dollar Man (Rudy Wells), etc. fame is 94 now and seems to have declined in recent years. Despite this coupled with his advanced age, he is still attending conventions, but is one to watch heading into the future. In the coming days, he may appear in videos of the Washington State Summer Con, which he is currently attending, which may give us insight into his condition, be it cause for concern or just that he was having a bad day on the eleventh when the linked photo was taken. He is also the cousin of J. Robert Oppenheimer, father of the atomic bomb.

Been going down an 80s voice actor rabbit hole, and discovered that John Erwin who played He-Man alongside Oppenheimer is still alive at 87. They say he’s very shy and doesn’t leave his retirement home and there’s not many pics up of him.

He's scheduled to be at Fan Expo San Francisco at the end of next month, which may prove a good form-spotting opportunity, especially given its proximity to the new year.

New video of Oppenheimer from a few days ago. He seems much better than he was back in June when this thread was created. I'm not about to drop him from my own list, but he's also not one that seems a prime candidate for the 2025 DL at this point.
