3minutes2midnight 1 Posted April 11, 2005 To end accusations of cherry-picking the overly-elderly, may I propose Deathlist consider giving proper actuarial consideration to the 2006 list. I simple formula averaging out women on the deathlist to 78 and men to 75 (These figures may need checking, but the 2005 British insurance actuarial tables can provide the latest average expected life span) Deathlist will have a slight statistical advantage, as the average age on the current dealthlist will be greater than the average life-expectancy when the candidates were born. Rude Kid 3 Posted April 11, 2005 Terminator/One Man Jury, a couple of points: 1) It hasn't gone unnoticed that you're the same person, posting from the same IP address, often switching from one ID to the other within minutes. Heck, you even argue with yourself sometimes. 2) Can you tell the OMJ side of your split personality to be a little less negative? This is meant to be a light-hearted forum. Thanks. Tuber Mirum 126 Posted April 11, 2005 P4WND! Seven Google results, and I'm none the wiser... (No disrespect to Mr IYG, of course) Look for PWND. Apart from standing for Punk Will Never Die (a highly controversial claim possibly worthy of discussion on these pages) it means something else to do with getting killed in a computer game or generally getting one's come-uppance, one's just desserts, one's sins finding one out, meeting one's Nemesis and all that sort of thing. Apparently. Perhaps OMJ and terminator are brothers or flatmates or students in a hall of residence or something who have to share a computer. Anything is possible. Though many things which are possible may not necessarily be desirable. Or likely for that matter.

Guest IYG Posted April 11, 2005 P4WND! Seven Google results, and I'm none the wiser... (No disrespect to Mr IYG, of course) None whatsoever. In addition to what Mr. Notaspud said, there is internet speak or rather gaming speak for people who are really into video games (I'm not one of them but I read a comic about them). The new language has been dubbed l337 speak, why? I don't know but it is funny at times.

The new language has been dubbed l337 speak, why? I don't know but it is funny at times. I am pleased someone cleared that up. I didn't want to show up my woeful lack of knowledge. I thought it was something to do with porn! I presume, therefore, that L337 spells LEET but I am none the wiser even after reading this! However, I am so stuck in the mud that I deplore the SMS text speech, and although I use SMS extensively I still try to get grammar and punctuation correct. Annoys Mrs Josco too. Boudicca 702 Posted April 12, 2005 ISP blocker thingy? I was going to get one that only shows the name of my ISP provider. Well...that was the best I could do with a small child pulling on my arm, and the Film of Evil blaring in the background.
Tuber Mirum 126 Posted April 12, 2005 Looking over OMJ and Terminator's postings, I notice they are all made between the hours of 11am and 6pm. More at lunchtime than at any other time. This implies that they are colleagues at some place of employment. If anyone wanted to have two identities on the Deathlist it would not exactly be rocket science to connect over different proxy severs so as to hide the fact that they are in the same place. If you have several computers at home (as I do) then it would be extremely simple. That would probably also be a way of getting round the ISP blocker thingy. (Like the way we all got to look at the US Republican Party's website which was only visible to Americans in the time before the "election") Not that anyone would want to bother doing something like that though But I do wonder what the mods are up to sometimes
