Zeppelin 1 Posted July 21, 2005 Gerry Thomas, who changed the way Americans eat — for better or worse — with his invention of the TV Dinner during the baby boom years, has died at 83. He died Monday after a long bout with cancer.
Lady Die 63 Posted July 21, 2005 Cancer was probably a result of eating too much junk food.
football_fan 42 Posted July 21, 2005 It has already been mentioned here in the "near misses for 2005" thread. Here's a link to the story: Gerry Thomas, Inventor of TV Dinners dead at
VSBfromH 74 Posted July 21, 2005 Sorry to be pedantic (it seems to be a common trait on here), but surely people had sat in front of the TV eating their dinners before this man came along with his idea, so to say he "invented the TV dinner" is misleading. Quite right, it must have been John Logie Baird then as people must have eaten dinner before the TV was invented. (I shall now expect a stream of postings arguing about the correct inventor of the Television.)
