John Horsley - Where Is He ?

I'm watching the old re-runs of The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perin on Gold and the new series with Martin Clunes. In the old series is John Horsely who plays Doc Moreissey. Wiki said that John was born in Westcliff on Sea in 1915/1920. Last acting role seems to be 1996. Really good actor, but disappeared without a trace does anyone have ideas?

As far as I understand, he's retired & still alive. But it's not easy to get a lot of detail about him, but I would imagine if he passes away, there would be a reasonable amount of news or at least an obituary somewhere.
