Graeme on prince Leonardo! You learn something new every day. I never heard of this at all.

    Charles Manson

Charlie's made it to our Death League 11 times, and I always thought he was a dumb pick (picking him because you want him to die, not because you think he'll die). Now though, he may be ripening.
  5. I'd say getting to 100 is an achievement. I'm good with including the supercentenarians. After all, isn't it a lot nicer than all the Charles Mansons and Abu Bakr al Baghdadis of the world?
  6. Would this definition have knocked off Terri Schiavo? If so, then I would have to disagree.
  7. I can't disagree with any of this m, it's a really good summary. The only person/situation I would add is Terri Schiavo, which I recently posted somewhere else.

But that'll cut off a lot of people. Not just FFBI types... Yes, a lot more nobodies. Most of the" famous" for being for being ill" types usually come as a package deal btwn The Mirror,Daily Mail and Express. Getting rid of Daily Mail might stop person "famous in the Us decades ago" aka an Irwin Corey or a geriatric Hall Of Fame Hockey player from netting an occasional obit or a trainwreck Us reality star someone takes a punt on. It would have no actual effect on the top of table teams vulturing with cancer mum hits. But Captain, those are some real favorites, for geriatric Americans like me!
  9. She is going to FUCK HER OWN NEWLY-WIDOWED SON IN LAW. She is SICK. Lucky Son in Law!!!! .................and 'sick' in yoof speak means good. I had to look up Glynis Barber to see who she was. If any of the images are recent, then yes, Lord, she looks good. I didn't see anything in the news stories to know what Lardy's talking about. What's up with that?
  10. Did I miss some great skullduggerous intrigue and altercation that resulted in such ban?? Dang it! I am never around at the right time. I tend to avoid getting into such forum spats myself but I am a great voyeur of such spectacles and Caisson had the potential for at least a 3 bag of popcorn handbag swinging fest. However, I'm sure another troll will be along to take his place shortly. Doc was in a class by himself WA.

I agree that "cancer mums" shouldn't be considered celebrities but there are exceptions to the "only famous for being ill" rule. An example is the case of Terri Schiavo several years back. Yes she was only famous for being ill, but her illness sparked a furious legal battle over her "right to die" and the case and notoriety made her a real "celebrity" as far as I can judge. What I'm saying here is that it's difficult to make a hard and fast rule for who is a celebrity.

    The Dead Of 2017

??? According to science, everything that happens obeys the laws of nature. In fact, the medieval Cartesian view that there is a ghost with causal powers in the brain-machine is currently regarded as ridiculous by scientists. No death is a tragedy since everything that happens obeys the laws of nature. Cartesius uses the ghost theory to found his scientifical method. It was only supposed per absurdum to demonstrate man can be sure of something he is doing, thinking, even if the ghost keeps us in a fictional reality. I'm sure he did not really believe there was a ghost in our brain (well, in some brains there may be a ghost...) and he did not know about TPT.   Yes but had Cartius a choice? Did he have causal powers? Nature has causal powers. The common-sense theory of free will says that last week, while you still had a choice whether tobuy a ticket or not, the future was still objectively open, and you really could have chosen any of two or more options. But that is incompatible with spacetime. So according to spacetime physics, the openness of the future is an illusion, and therefore causation and free will can be no more than illusions as well. We need, and cling to, the belief that the future can be affected by present events, and especially by our choices; but perhaps that is just our way of coping with the fact that we do not know the future. In reality, we make no choices. Even as we think we are considering a choice, its outcome is already there, on the appropriate slice of spacetime, unchangeable like everything else in spacetime, and impervious to our deliberations. Don't agree Blady but I love it! I quoted physicist David Deutsch without acknowledgment of the source. It is indeed true that according to Einstein's relativity, the future is already fixed and has been so since the Big Bang. Thus the next dead of 2017 are already there, on the 2017 slice of spacetime, unchangeable like everything else. Still don't agree, still love it.

    Joost Van Der Westhuizen

Yes, but you won't be able to get past Golden Slumbers, who's in the lead (for now at least). Think his death puts me in the top ten right now, barring any deaths a bit later... Agreed, but still heady stuff for a poor player like me.

Very sad but a big hit for Dead Ends and Deceased Hose (me).
  17. My experience was just the opposite. The Patriots looked dead early on. A pall fell over my house as a pick-6 put the Falcons into a huge lead. Starting the second half, Atlanta added another score and it looked insurmountable. As someone who has watched every Super Bowl, it had all the earmarks of a rout. Still, I couldn't look away. Even when New England scored a touchdown, they missed the extra point (rats!). The onside kick was a joke. Then at the end of the third period, a bit of life. Only a two score game. Hope rising! When they got a touchdown and the 2 point conversion it's only a one score game! Could it be? Hope seemed dashed when two long plays by Atlanta got them into easy field goal range (including one of the greatest clutch catches I've ever seen by Julio Jones). Even the 3 points would be a crusher. Then, a sack and a holding penalty pushed the Falcons out of range. The punt pinned New England deep but we had plenty of time. The subsequent drive by Brady and Co. got them the touchdown. Could they get the 2 point conversion again? Yes! In overtime, we won the toss this time (thanks for nothing George H.W. Bush). One more drive and it was the sweetest of all the titles. I feel for you Tadguy, sincerely. We've been on the other side of these disappointments. Coming back from the dead is a great feeling.

    Val Kilmer

Kilmer is a guy that I'm unsure of. He was highly rated in our Death League last year. I don't know if he's really sick or if this is just tabloid baloney. I'd be interested in the thoughts of my Deathlist colleagues as our draft is rapidly approaching.
  19. It looked like it was all over but the Patriots didn't quit and won the greatest Superbowl ever! No doubt who the greatest coach and quarterback are now.
  20. Well enjoy the whole 12mins of actual play in the hours of transmission. Probably worth recording it, turning off all media then watching it skipping the ads, stoppages, etc etc. Strangely enough, Rocky, there are a whole group of people who don't watch the game and only tune in for the ads. Not me though. Go Patriots!

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2018

Shouldn't this be posted in the ranting thread? I was wondering if it should be 'shitty' rather than 'pissy' since the habit in question is anal. "Pissy" might be a bit of a localized term but trust me, it is the right word.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2018

I always love these people who get all pissy about "You should have posted there" and "You should have looked here first". Maybe they don't understand that many of us actually have a life and although we look on this website to get ideas and make a comment or two, we don't spend 10 hours a day checking every thread.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2018

You have satanic insight? Keep way from those crossroads. Always hated Satanists. Anger, Manson and others are on my Death Wishlist for 2017 if you noticed. But the old bastard is well known even outside his depraved public (he is considered an important underground filmmaker). That's why I reported his birthday. Sammy Davis Jr? Liberace? Jayne Mansfield? All followers of La Vey, whose fame was obuscured by Charles Manson. And there might be many more we don't know about in Hollywood. Anyway, not convinced Manson was a Satanist. He was a Marxist like Mugabe. Manson isn't/wasn't a Marxist. He's a plain old criminal and murderer who talks whatever ragtime he thinks will avail him at whatever moment he speaks.
